Dwight holding the mic for Angela wasn't on the script. Angela Kinsey was terrified to sing in front of people, and she even talked to the director trying to get out of it. After she shared this fear with Rainn, Rainn kneeled down, held the mic for her, and started chanting pum pum pum to calm her down. The love we see in this scene between Angela and Dwight is from the love between Angela Kinsey and Rainn Wilson. Angela shared this story on Office Ladies and I think it's too wholesome that I must share to those who haven't heard of it. This made me teared up watching this scene.
