My favorite item is the white platter with holly and berries around the edge. It just looks classy. I do always love Santas though. Those "Angel Candles" actually go with angel "chimes." It's a brass stand with a circle tray at the bottom. There's a stem up[ the center with cup-like chimes attached around it. There are flying angels in line with the chimes. At the top is a fan sort of attachment. The candles stand at the bottom around the tray. When they are lit, the fan turns and so do the angels. The angels bump the chimes and make them ring. The bit larger candles can also be used with "pyramids." I don't know if you know them, but I know you would like them. They are made of wood. Some are pretty tall, some are quite short. Built in a cone or pyramid shape, they have several levels and the same type fan at the top. When the candles make the fan turn, it turns the different levels too. There is traditionally a nativity on the bottom level and maybe shepherds and wise men. You can find sheep, a donkey, camels, other people and animals too. They fill up all the levels! The fans usually come with separate blades, so if you find one, make sure all the blades are there. It won't work with a blade missing. I hope you look for one, because I'm sure you will love it. Some are nicer than others, but I love even the cheap ones. I have found them at thrift stores, yard sales, and estate sales. I don't think you'll find one at Goodwill, but prove me wrong! The originals came from Germany, I think. Sorry this is so long, I got so enthused. Oh!... My Mum had candle holders for putting real candles on the tree. but we only did it once. Yes, my family is a German heritage. You have to light the candles, sing or something then blow out the candles right away. You can't leave them burning. The Victorians had many fires from candle lit trees! You are right! Happy Ho0lidays!

Yes, before electricity and before it was widely used/available in homes, people used candles on their trees with clip holders. I remember my mother telling me about it. Yes, there were fires as a result, but I’m sure many people were careful. Thanks for the haul. 😊

*Yes, people DID use lit candles🕯on their Christmas🎄Trees, but only kept them lit for a short time (since they are a fire hazard) while the family sat and enjoyed the tree. Back then, trees were traditionally freshly cut and decorated on Christmas Eve and the candles🕯were lit on Christmas Day, while the branches were still fresh. Trees were usually taken down on New Year's Day or January 2nd because of the increasing risk of being a fire 🔥 hazard - and no, I am not old enough to have been alive in the early 1900's - but my grandparents were and shared their Christmas memories with me before they passed away. 😉🤍❤🤍*

Back in the day before electric treelights, people put their trees up on Christmas eve and after the children went to bed the adults decorated the tree to suprise the children on Christmas morn. The candles were only lit for a short time and yes, there were many fires.

I grew up in Germany and we had real candles on trees. They were not lit that long and were never left without some one near. The trees were more sparse so more room between branches. Next to tree was a bucket if water.

You could put that santa tray inside center of an outdoor wreath. It is cute vintage Santa face, add some plastic snowflakes, fake candy canes and plaster "Christmas cookies" to wreath...it would be charming!

The original Santa mugs from Japan came with 4 different expressions; both eyes open, both eyes closed, left eye winking, right eye winking. If you find all 4 originals, you have a complete set. The miniature mug versions were popular in 5&dime stores in the mid 1970's. My sister and spent our allowance to buy a set. My mom scolded us for being so silly as they couldn't hold much actual beverage in them.😂

Hahaha!😂 No one alive today, had lit candles on their tree. That was Victorian Times, late 1800's. Yes, they did actually light them. The candles stood in tin clips on the thicker part of the branch. They stood where no needle tips hung above the flame. The tree was (hopefully) kept well watered, so it was green wood and not dry. The tree was only lit for a very short time on Christmas Eve, during celebrations, and yes, unfortunately, they did sometimes catch fire, at which time I'm sure the men were quick to tackle and suppress the flames. No one went off to bed leaving the tree candles burning. 😊

When it comes to candles on the tree I always think of the movie with Olivia Newton John called (I think) A Mom Ford Christmas. In the movie she saw a magazine that had candles lit on the tree so she tried it and she lit the house on fire! Anyway it was a random thought... I don't think you can even find that movie anywhere.

So I’m at my parents right now as I watch this video, and asked my dad who is 82 yrs old, if he had real burning candles on his Christmas tree growing up on the farm, and he said absolutely they did! Now he did say they only let the candles burn for a short period of time and that the trees they would bring in to the house were very fresh and held a lot of moisture from being frozen so not too dangerous lol! Seems crazy to me!
