I learned and memorized this in two hours and got to a point where sometimes before you explained the next chord and voicing my fingers knew where to go which tells me I'm getting better at hearing and seeing patterns for changes!!! Thank you so much there's nothing I love more than Christmas jazz guitar!!!! I hope to play this with my dad on Christmas and he can accompany me on bass!!

Thanks, Sharon! ❤️ L8ve your enthusiasm 😊. Reminds me a bit of myself, when Isoaked up all the knowledge I could get. It's a lot harder to play with the backing tracks, bc you also have to concentrate on keeping the time, while focusing on other stuff and trying to remember the chords / arrangement. Make sure you play it without backing track first.

I’ve always loved Vince’s classic! I have fond memories of watching the Charlie Brown specials when our kids were little - decades ago! And, not too many yrs ago, I did some guitar/trumpet duo Christmas music, and this one always got a good response. Trumpet playing the melody is so lyrical. Great job Sandra👏👏❤️😁

Oh, that's really so very kind of you to say! ❤️ This song was kinda new to me, bc we have totally different friend songs here in Europe. But I knew this song, bc it's popular in the jazz world. I really like the US Christmas songs, bc they swing so much and have jazz chords. But I also like the Austrian ones, like Stille Nacht (Silent Night), they have I swing too them, are based more on classical music, with also some nice changes. You're from Mexico, aren't you (living in the US now) ? Do you have some unique Christmas songs too?

You did an excellent job , arranging it and performing it. I was born and raised in Mexico and most of the Christmas songs that they play are coming from the USA. I am ready to start reviewing the other Christmas songs from your previous lessons. Your teaching material is priceless and I’ll be forever grateful to you, dear Sandra. It's coming along but not sure I'll make it in time for Christmas. Thank you for this tutorial! It came at the perfect time. I'll search your other videos, but do you think you could do a beginners video on any tips or tricks for smooth chord changes (fingering, barre training, etc.) if you haven't already? Hi Steve, glad you like the Christmas Bundle! Generally speaking, you should start with the basic jazz chords (check my video 10 Easy Jazz Chords) and play through some standards. Then go to the tension Chords video. Knowing your chords makes chords melody so much easier. When learning a bew chord voicing lift your fingers from the fretboard, just 1-2 inches, keep the fingers in shape, don't move them and then try to fret the chord again. That will train your muscle memory!

Because of the smallness of my hands I could never use my thumb making chords. I am 80 and when I was 17 had lots of trouble learning Chet Atkins songs off the record. Imagine how I felt seeing his videos only few years ago how much he used his thumb for bass notes when playing making it easier for him and play some of his tunes. When I see jazz players, of which I'm one do this I have leave the thumb bass notes out or use a different fingering.
