This year I'm celebrating Christmas in Norway for the first time. 🌌 I'm really looking forward to it, because I've never had such Christmas vibes before. That's because of all the snow and somehow you always associate Scandinavia with Christmas. 🌌❄️ I wish you merry christmas 🌌😘

Reason we call it Jul and not christmas or Kristmesse (direct translation of Christmas), is from pagan time that is Viking and before it was called jól and is the norse word for jul. The reason to celebrate is that the sun turned (well it become lighter and longer days after 21st) so its sort of celebration of Vintersolverv the other half of the year .... and you got midsommerverv in the summer. Vikings after they got christians, they still kept some pagan rituals :-) so its probably easier to just incorporate some traditions after all.

The more you hear about the different representations of Santa Claus or St. Nick here in Europe, the lesser the mainstream Santa gets valued as THE santa for christmas I'm thinking. I find that very interesting! And yes, we dont' see too much decors outside the houses here too sis. It's mostly just coziness of the christmas spirit indoors that's practised. Nice vlog as always!

hello bunso actually we dont celebrate xmas, since i dont have xmas.but when I was started living here in norway i observed alot of different things from the traditions we have in philippines. And di ko makalimutan is yung first experience ko na sobrang social ng suot ng family ng asawa ko pero lugaw (risgrøtt) lang kinain nila as in na shock ako.pero I´ve learned from it.and sobrang napa ka generous nila dito sa norway in terms of giving gifts diba? Yung pepperkaker talaga nag kalat kahit saang tindihan and infairness masarap sya, bakit wala kaya tayung ganyan sa pinas??kasi sa atin puto bumbong ba yun bunso??at ibang kakanin but actually i dont relate much kasi even in philippines we dont celebrate bunso.pero korek bunso grabe talaga sila dito magpahalaga ng xmas nila noh..pure family talaga sila. yung real xmas tree nila ang mahal kaya sabi ko kay hubby mag plastic nlng kami kasi sayang yung pera pero ayaw niya. happy holidays bunso...thanks for sharing

Hi Ulysses ,I understand po where is this coming from but you also need to understand din po na they grew up in a different culture & traditions, Most young people here between 16-18yrs old moved out from their parents, They are "very independent" they work on their own, they pay their "own"foods, bills, taxes, rent. People here are working hard enough po to survived so thats why every single cents counts here. I think u only misinterpret what she said ,but dont take it seriously instead used it as an inspiration to work harder, Perhaps some of my video can help u understand about culture differences.. And I have informational video that might help u understand the life in Norway. Thank you & Merry Christmas 👇 kzbin.info/www/bejne/enzXk5uhmq2ApM0
