At 1:33 the narrator's voice is lowered by accident. It says: "painted clay figures of the Holy Family" sorry about that

We never had turkey on Christmas. We had tamales, pozole, enchiladas and we drank "ponche". At the end of every posada, we, the children got an "aguinaldo" (little bag with candies or fruit) and hit a piñata with a broom's stick. Ahhhh, those beautiful times in Mexico!

Actually my mom, the narrator, that grew up in Mexico City grew up receiving gifts from Santa Claus and the 3 Wise Men. Don't generalize due to your specific situation

It's a Catholic tradition.

I’m from the north of Mexico and we also have Santa Claus on Christmas. Maybe not in your neck of the woods. But Mexico is big and diverse.

Why can't you say that Christmas posadas are a CATHOLIC celebration of Christmas. Too difficult for you?
@loveelia1203 Жыл бұрын
This was narrated by the person's mother who doesn't speak english very well as it's not her first language, i'm sure it got lost in translation, it's not a big deal. If you know it's catholic already, I don't see why it's a problem or why you're mentioning it. If you want to mention that it's catholic let's also not forget this celebration was used by Spain to erase Indigenous people and their own beliefs to try to convert them. Either way, it's a nice video, but I don't see why it's a big deal whether she mentions it or not. 👍
