I love it. Thanks for showing this new technique of using masking fluid for the centers of lights. And also by splattering drops of water in the background for the distant slowflakes. It really does make a contrast with the foreground snowflakes done with gouache droplets. I never thought to do that and I sure will try this technique. Thanks for showing this to us.

The effect of the droplets of water on the wet Payne's grey is wonderful --a great subdued snowfall in the background. I hadn't used masking fluid until I bought some in the fine tip applicator but all I got was big drops and bubbles. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but hope it's just lack of practice. Beautiful tree, Emma ♥️ I think I need to invest in the W&N masking fluid - I have the Frisk brand and the one only time I used it, it tore my paper on removal. It put me off ever since. Get well soon and I think we can all relate to “baby brain/brain fog” when it comes to finding words.. Try different paper, it may be the paper and not the masking fluid. My w&n rips too on some papers
