Hello I’m a new subscriber. I too moved to Michoacan Mexico 8 years ago from California!! I love my life here in Mexico!! I’ve been watching many of your vlogs!! Your doing an amazing job with the kids and taking care of the ranch while your husband is working in 🇺🇸 !! Something I was sad😢 to see on the video. Abuelita didn’t receive a Christmas gift from her grandkids, I’m sorry but she worked hard making the tamales 🫔 for Christmas dinner!! I remember in Mexico Xmas is for the kids basically.. We didn't get that many gifts. We got at least one , ...and That was the best thing . Then the next day all the kids would go out to the street to see the friends and compare and share the gifts ..

I loved seeing Mexican women make tamales, when I was little. My mom didn't like making them, so she'd get them elsewhere. I always visioned wanting to do Christmas tamales together like that. So I taught myself, thanks to youtube again. lol And now I have my daughter help me make them during the holidays. I want to bring that part of our culture and tradition back into our family. I wish I had special moments with my grandmas like that. However, one had passed away before I was born, and the other one, we weren't really close.

I grew up in a traditional mex. family , in Ca. We opened up our gifts on the 24 , now my married kids do the 25 for there kids , I am first gen. 67 old grandma , my parents were from Chiwhawa, love abuela , my mom always made tamalies even sold them so yummy 🎉🎄🎊

It’s funny because what you say is a custom there is also custom here. In the US I guess because you were from Michigan it wasn’t. We are from the south. We lived close to the border in Texas. We grew up with those customs and food. Now we are in California. Central and it’s the same here. I am Mexican American. So were my parents. My dad’s mom and my mom’s dad were from Mexico. I love the Mexican Culture. And yes I speck Spanish ☺️I make tamales for Christmas or Christmas Eve and a Rib roast for Christmas Day ☺️

Congrats! I think that It was a lot of hard work doing these +14 vlog. I watched most of them. I also want you to know that by having 4 kids you actually helped Mexico's demography that has been falling a lot in the last decade. I think that current rate is of 1.9 kids per couple when it should be 2.1 kids per couple. One last thing, water will be a huge problem in the Jalisco area in fact all over Mexico since we're in 5 year warming trend so try to conserve more water, recycle the water and increasing your storage capacity. Again, you're hard worker!

I didnt put it in the vlog and I should have but she did get a gift from us. I did a photo shoot of her and the grandkids and made prints for the house. If you watch the video you will see the prints in the Christmas room but that was our gift to her and she loved it.
