John Grisham's book, "Skipping Christmas", in which the movie was based off of, never had any moments, where it involved a thief running around, and spooking everybody. All it just had was Blair and Enrique, getting home in fast traffic from the airport, and the officers were talking about how much it snowed, rather than stopping in an alley and catching a thief. It was such a moronic subplot, for the movie, in which made me lose a little respect for (it’s not supposed to be an action/thriller movie). But on the other hand, like with Blair and Enrique coming home to the Christmas party, it moved me to tears, like it did, while reading and listening to Grisham's book.

Never seen this movie before.. What's the plot?

Basically a couple's daughter is in college, so they decide to not have a traditional, family Christmas, like they usually do. They get hassled by their neighbors, but the couple gets ready to leave on a cruise I think, but their daughter springs a surprise on them and is coming back to introduce her new boyfriend. They have to rush and throw together a Christmas for their daughter. That's all I remember off the top of my head, I last saw this movie when it first came out.
