I grew up in the early 70's. We had "tinsel trees" every year. Once we had a silver artificial tree that came with a color dial that you put under the tree. It had red, blue and green gels that rotated, and the different colors would illuminate from the bottom of the tree to the ceiling. There was 6 kids in my family and all of our ornaments were homemade. Our mom made a salt dough that we shaped, braided and used cookie cutters. We made a lottle hole in then before she baked them and we got to tie ribbons for hanging after we painted them. I love to think about how much fun it was learning and being creative. Our parents used to say the magic of Chrismas was for us kids, and they were teaching us what they did with their parents in the 1930's. ❤

Lo I love the both trees! Thank you for sharing, I will be using both. I was homeless, did drugs, went into prison, where I got to know God. He changed my life. Now I have a home, a husband and a lovely year old daughter (Zoe), and a stream of income that gets me $32,000 Weekly. Plus a new identity- a child of God. Hallelujah!!!

I invested in a Fuller sweeper. Everyone uses that wondrous no frills sweeper throughout the day. Cost me $70, non-electric, lifetime warranty, many colors to choose from, and it's been around since the early 1900s. The kids love to use it, too!

Looks very pretty ❤ it's a good thing you don't have any pets because cats especially are drawn to eat tinsel which can be deadly. A very long time ago when I was little we used to grab handfuls of it and throw it at the tree, such fun. 😊 Be safe in Hawaii and God bless.

Great job on the trees. I think they’re perfect for each room. Hey though, you really need to try and really work on refraining from constantly touching your hair. It’s gives a super egocentric vibe, as well as the more you do it the more oil you’re putting in your hair which has the opposite effect of the volume you’re trying to achieve. Instead of constantly primping 1) use a volumizing spray. Bc I’ve similar hair I’d suggest the It’s a 10 spray in the blue and white can, and 2) Use a light aerosol hair spray in which you spray while you’re doing the exact lift that you’re constantly doing. All around the crown of your head, pinch a bit of hair and lift, spraying on a light bit of the hairspray. Then leave it. Don’t touch it until that fully dries, so like 2-3 mins. Then just fluff and primp it around with your fingers and it’ll fall more naturally but have more of the volume you’re always looking for. I’ve hair like yours in color, and texture. My hair is thin but I’ve a ton of it. And my last suggestion is never ever put a brush to your hair once it’s dried unless it’s a styling heated curling brush for touch-ups. Ok no one asked but that’s my suggestions for the day! Have a great time in Hawaii!

Unsolicted Comment: The tinsel transported me to a time I will never get back, a time that is burned in my memory, for so many reasons...the tinsel!!!!! 🙂It a whole world...and not everyone does tinsel, not even when I was a kid, but we did tinsel and so did my Aunt...now she was crazed!!!! She had regular silver tinsel of course annnnnnd colored tinsel that she said was her mothers that she took off the tree strand by strand just how she carefully placed it each year! If you even thought about getting involved with tinsel you knew better! Ha! Low room lighting, trees colored lights the tinsel! Mesmerizing! I think your girls are gonna love it and remember it! Enjoy! and Thanks for sharing and sending me back in time!

Is it just me or does anyone else feel concern when she is looking at the camera and constantly touching/checking her hair while DRIVING?! Also, why does Tanner (and Derek and poor Jack) always have such awful haircuts? The wives seem to spend big bucks on getting haircuts and coloring, even flying somewhere else to do so, and the guys look like someone cut theirs with dull scissors. Handsome guys, really bad haircuts.
