Some of you asked about the triggers on the drums and what they use them for. Here is what Rossi himself said about them: "We use the triggers to open the gates, and for special electronic sounds in a few songs like "Puppe", and for explosions or gunshots."
@A-Milkdromeda-Laniakea-Hominid Жыл бұрын
What is meant by open the gates? I would normally take it to mean "open up pathways to new sounds and effects" (for eg to make pyrotechnics and lights blow on cue with the songs) but he was very specific, "gates AND special sounds AND explosions in a few songs." Open the transistor gates maybe?
@@musiqsoundsproductions @tyde4610 Ahh, like a compressor but for drums. Thanks.
@Fleetato Жыл бұрын
@@A-Milkdromeda-Laniakea-Hominidnoise gates and compressors do opposite(ish) things. noise gates suppress signal below a threshold while compressors amplify signal below a threshold. you also have limiters that suppress anything above a certain level

And that's how an ACTUAL drum sound check goes. No crazy grooves and fills. "can you hit tom 1 for me?"
@hanledeezbars Жыл бұрын
they do the grooves and fills to make sure everything is coming out clearly. most of them start off with the "hit snare 1 then snare 2" thing then rip a decent little drum solo to see how it all sounds together. there's good reasons for that, and there's no right or wrong way to sound check an instrument aside from obvious things
@kasimir2853 Жыл бұрын
Wenn die einzelnen Drums eingepegelt sind,dann wird das gesamte Set ein Mal komplett gespielt um zu checken ob alles zu 100% klingt.
@kyronnewbury Жыл бұрын
@@hanledeezbars I agree with you to a point. The problem is that few people post the boring part of sound check so people go into a sound check and just start going nuts. Most sound guys want to dial in each mic before hearing the kit all together

But it has to have the groove because of the sum of harmonics, so there's nothing left! Until you play everything together! But the passage of each piece is important!

This guy was also checking the drums right before the boys came on stage at the concert I was at. He was just hitting the snare twice and obviously: crowd went wild. At first he didn't react, stayed all professional but once he got up he actually threw kisses into the crowd xD Reminded me of Jack Black.
