I think this is truly the core of nearly everything Hitchens ever argued in his life. It was all only ever about love. I think its one of the reasons he railed against religion the way he did. His love of humanity made him deeply sensitive to people being taken advantage of and lied to. I always thought that was what drove his anti-theism...sort of ''I won't sit by and watch people be treated like this''

You can tell a man’s true character by how he treats children, animals, and the vulnerable. Even though he was probably in tremendous pain, he stopped and talked with this little girl because he knew it would make both her day and his. RIP Christopher, we miss you

He didn't see God, didn't go to heaven, but something much better. Christopher made millions of people around the world stop and think, ask and try to answer some simple but long over due questions. He was 1 man standing up against the God delusion, now thanks to his speeches, writing, and these videos, there are millions of people doing the same, believing we can be good without God. 1 man who stood toe to toe with the most powerful force in human history, religion. Religion has crushed all in its path through out history, but not Christopher Hitchens. History will look back on this time, and on this man and say, "This is when Humanity finally started to grow up".

A profound crystallization. After all isn’t Love the point of it all. Should the day come when our societies reject these undermining institutions and embrace the main message of a higher Love by human fellowship on a cosmic stage, then it will truly be the Great Leap Forward. It is a sad fact that so many of us in this world live in a proverbial “Flatland”. We can’t see the bigger picture beyond our petty aesthetic disagreements propelled by the desire for power. Hitchens was another who opened a world of information for me as well as other avenues of thought. That is a great gift from one human being to another.

I only just found the amazing, abrasive, perplexing and polorising christopher hitchens in the last few years by stumbling upon him here on youtube because of my own rebellious nature, i am always late to the party. Oh and btw go vegan, lol

I'm afraid decent people who care more for life than Power and Money need to do more. I too am guilty of watching these videos and endless opinions on the state of the world and being moved to add an emotional comment but at some point actions have to be taken to stop the populist greed.
