A lot of actors who did little cult films like this who have done very high profile work tend to not be very fond of their roles or not care much about them - Christopher seems genuinely happy to be a part of it, he knew the games which is very surprising (you should of asked if he played them before or after he made the film and whether or not he played as Raiden) - He also seemed to really genuinely care about the games story which makes the fact that he didn't do MK annihilation very commendable as it wasn't just a cash thing or something to do just because it was offered - That's really amazing. Great interview, Raiden both on screen and off is a hell of a guy.

Yeah, Christoper also gave props to Paul Anderson for directing a great movie during his panel. I did want to expand more on his answers but I knew I did not have much time. I just fit all 10 questions in :)

You did a great job on the interview by the way, despite reading off a list and on a time limit you let him have room to talk and your genuine responses made it really entertaining - Especially when Christopher started calling out Annihilation - Anyway, for what it is I think Anderson did a really good and respectful job for Mortal Kombat, I really wish he did the same for Resident Evil as he went the Michael Bay route where the first in the series is almost a decent film if very different from the source material - And then the series just goes further and further down the rabbit hole of batshit insanely incompetent - In his early days however he actually had some decent films, MK, Event horizon while torn apart in editing has some cool and creative ideas, Alien VS. Predator was fun if you turn your brain off and his Death race remake I think was a pretty damn good action movie, almost a cinematic version of Twisted metal. Anyway, if they really are making a 3rd Mortal Kombat movie I would personally love to see Christopher reprise his role as Raiden - Although if it is a sequel to the previous 2 then that would make it a film of MK 4 - Do you think they should do that or should they jump ahead to Deadly Alliance or take it in an entirely new direction?

Well he said there was a good story for the new Script I think just do what works...It doesn't have to be focused on a certain MK game. The first movie was kinda a mix of MK1/MK2 game elements. They just did what they needed to make a cool film :)

I'm not just saying this but watch any interview with Christopher Lambert and you'll find that he's just a cool down to earth guy who is not bitter at his position in the industry. He knows he's just there to have fun. I remember his first interview on the original Graham Norton show years ago and thinking how much of a cool guy he was. Made some awesome films like Highlander 1,2,3 MK and Fortress. Though to be honest he seems a little out of it here...drugs maybe. Also his English was a lot better before, maybe spent too long out the country.

Seems like he has a genuine love of the movie and respect for the games. Hearing him talk about the sets and the backgrounds made me really smile and want to rewatch the movie. The jabs at Annihilation are always welcome too lol.
