Sir Christopher Lee really was the most interesting man in the world. Directly descended from Charlemagne and directly related to Lighthorse Henry Lee, witnessed the last public execution in France, lived among "exiled princely families," served in WWII, survived malaria 6 times in one year, tracked down Nazi war criminals, actually MET Tolkien, was a wartime spy, was a founding member of the "Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare." and hiked Mt. Vesuvius THREE DAYS before it erupted (1944 obviously). Most of this happened BEFORE his acting career. Recieved a knighthood Released a heavy metal album in his 80's Holds a Guinness world record Was engaged to a royal's daughter for a while Was a world champion fencer (hence the portrayal of Count Dooku as a fencer) Was a master opera singer Spoke 6 languages fluently and was conversational in 2 more.

@hazbaska1 It also was done as a prank to Christopher Lee as he played Count Dracula in Hammer's Dracula, as Peter Jackson got the chance to put a stake through his heart like his character does in that movie. George Lucas pulled a similar prank during the shooting of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, where he had his guys put fangs on a Yoda dummy, which was used for lightning reference during the Yoda vs Count Dooku duel. Lucas even jokingly said to Lee that he could "do your business on his [Yoda's] neck" meaning biting him to suck his blood like Dracula did, which he got the point, saying "I have no comment on that, George." to which Lucas laughed at.

Many people didn't know that Christopher Lee also collected special operations unit patches [and yes, Mr. Lee has a prominent seat at the table on top of Mt. Badass - his wiki entry only glosses over his activities]. One of the wonderful things about him was always took care to pronounce the unit's name properly in its proper language. GSG-9 was not pronounced in English, but German 'Geh Ess Geh Neun'. There is a distinct difference between the sound of 'neun' or 'nine' and 'nein' or 'no'. MANY English speakers attempting German trip up on that. But Sir Christopher never did.
