Christopher Luxon elected New Zealand’s next Prime Minister

The National Party’s Christopher Luxon has been elected New Zealand’s next Prime Minister.
Mr Luxon received an energetic welcome as he arrived at the National Campaign Party in Auckland.
“Thank you, New Zealand, - because from all over your country, this great country, you have reached for hope, and you have voted for change,” Incoming New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Luxon said.
Polls had predicted a win from the National Party - however, they started to tighten days before the election.
“We will rebuild the economy and offer tax relief, we will bring down the cost of living, we will restore law and order, we will deliver better health care and we will educate our children so they can grow up to live the lives that they dream of,” Mr Luxon said.

Rises in minimum wage make no sense in this case. - 0 focus on the economy and the housing crisis. In 2017 they promised to build 100,000 houses and had actually built 600 at the time. Housing, as a result, is at an all time high. - They don't actually know what this country want. Under labour, petrol prices are now at an all time high and one of their policies this election (remove GST from fruits and veges) would have resulted in an increase to petrol prices. (I always laugh when Americans cry about their petrol prices while they'd probably faint if they saw ours). People don't care about fruits and veges we just want to get to work.

This is a clear indication that what you see on social media is not what most kiwis feel here in NZ.
