Christopher Ward C63 GMT 36MM First Impressions

After taking a break from watches i've decided to start afresh with my passion. Hoping to do at least one video a week now and what a watch to start with! This is the 36mm version and not many have featured this on youtube yet so hopefully helpful to anyone considering buying. Thanks

Echoing what many others have said in that I really enjoy your videos and I appreciate that you talk about physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health in a hobby world that is so fun but can quickly become an unhealthy material obsession if your not intentional about how you engage it. I struggle with this all the time. I also appreciate your reviews as a fellow 6 inch wrister 😎. I was able to try this watch on at the District Time watch fair in Washington, DC last month and it is fantastic in person. I thought the color would be a bit much when I first saw it online, but in person it’s simply stunning and won me over. I’m currently aiming for the C63 Celeste as I have wanted an aventurine dial for a while and the Celeste hits all my spots but this dragonfly blue GMT is a close second. I’ve been interested in CW ever since I saw your review of the Trident Pro but being able to try on all their models in person at their booth at District Time made me appreciate their watches so much more. Incredible quality and wearability. Thanks again and good to have you back.

The Celeste would be a fantastic choice and the 36mm size is perfect for us 6” wristers! Please let me know which one you end up with. I’ve actually got a mother trident pro 300 coming tomorrow but it’s the blue 40mm. I spotted it for a good price on eBay so thought it was worth taking a look. I’ll be doing a video on that I’m sure. Good to see you back! I saw this watch on the Christopher Ward magazine they sent me recently. I watched the Uncharted movie on Netflix recently and bought the Fossil CH2565 that Tom Holland wears. It will arrive in the next week or so.

I let it go shortly after the initial review sadly. I felt it looked a little small even on my slim wrist. I think I may have been a little too hasty though and wouldn’t be surprised if I picked one up again at some point 🙏👍

Hi Alan i also have the black 36mm Sealander 63 and tempted by the gmt blue. Do you think you will keep both or move one on because of the similarities in design? I do think the bader bracelet on the gmt works better as a sports and the consort dresses it up nicely.

Hi, I think there could be room for both in a collection. They are similar but also different vibes I think. The gmt seems even more versatile with both bracelets achieving different looks. I can’t see me ever letting the sealander go though as it’s an amazing daily wearer 🙏👍

Great review! Which CW bracelet do you like better? I like the look of the gmt bracelet but the oyster style has quick adjustment on it. Is either more comfortable?

It’s a tough call but I think the dragonfly blue suits the jubilee a bit more 👍

Great watch. I really like the idea of 36mm for a watch with this type of bezel. Think I'd prefer it on an oyster bracelet with normal, adjustable clasp to beef up its sporty credentials tho.

Good to see you back! Respect for the break though and prioritising self care, the watch obsession can get unhealthy at times! I see you’re selling your 556i and you have the black dial CW 36mm sealander auto in this vid, what is your opinion between the two of them? Do you prefer the CW to the sinn or are you only selling the 556i because you have and prefer the 556a?

Thanks mate 🙏 I’m selling the sinn as although I love it I feel like the c63 sealander is a little more versatile with the bits of polishing here and there as opposed to the brushed look of the sinn. Also, the size and comfort of the sealander are good advantages. With regards to 556i v 556a… I think the 556a is my favourite 😊👍

Thanks! And I presume you would choose the 556a over the Sealander if you could only have one? Also do you find the bader or consort more comfortable for all day wear? Which do you prefer?

@@lukerendell actually feeling the sealander at the moment! The consort is definitely more comfortable but the sealander looks best on the bader I think! Interesting! Was looking at the Sinn but would have to sell my 36mm Sealander. My Sealander 2023 Forum LE is currently getting all the wrist time though still in the honeymoon with that one. After a bit of a break what would you say are currently the top 3 favourites in your collection?

I've found that 36mm watches that have a 20mm strap still fit well on my 6.25" wrist. It's when they have 18mm straps that things don't seem to fit right. Also, you're reviewing some expensive watches. Have you considered looking at watches like the Vaer S3 Quartz 36mm? Very good watch, and a lot less expensive.

I still find this watch/bracelet a mismatch...same with the latest Tudor 36mm Black Bay..a oyster style bracelet suits them better ( just my opinion 😅) Luckely CW offers this option..Tudor doesn't 😟

Not a stupid question. It’s actually a fixed bezel so it doesn’t turn. You use the numbers on the bezel with the orange hand to track a second time zone 👍

No, I agree! The dial on the c63 looks bigger and couple that with the male end links of the bader bracelet and the c63 looks and wears bigger 👍
