@@zavier1141 Not OP. Little confused on how he already achieved 5 figures, but the retirement plan for the US military is the BRS(Blended Retirement System) which consists of a pension unlocked at the 20 year mark, and the TSP(it's a 401k investment account, basically. 5% matching after a few years). Making max contribution to the account is fairly easy thanks to not needing to pay for food, shelter, insurance, & clothing.

Housing is a double edged sword when it comes to some installations, so this is a benefit but it can also be a downside. For example some of the bases where BAH is $1,500 and the housing is poorly maintained by the contractor they'll take the full amount of your BAH for something that realistically should be $200-$300 less than what they are taking. And yes some will say the reason they keep all of it is because they have to also maintain the housing, but again some of these contracted companies aren't even doing that, and if they are there should be a system in place where the company has to provide periodic proof that they are doing the maintenance of a set of buildings or complexes that would justify taking the whole $1,500 when anyone could tell you the rent for said housing shouldn't be more than say $1,000-$1,200. That extra $300-$500 the housing company pockets could be used to pay for things like home internet, or that little bit extra you do occasionally get charged if you go over the utility allowance that some if not most bases do have.

1:43 Bah they have the same paycheck issues that the government typically does, Missing or late pay, So forth so on. 2:27 THose benefits are only for people who don't have a family or anything, or just want to stay on base. Even with a family though it will save some money assuming they wanna go through the hassle of living on base, But i only recommend the military for single or separated people. Unless you get married while your in the military. 2:49 Yup in NY the minimum wage is 16$/hr however you don't got to worry about a place to live, So if your homeless it would be a good thing to aspire too, There is loads of benefits though, even when you get out. Plus Hazzard & other pays. Free flights, although its rare if there is a military plane going someplace & they got room you can apply to catch a ride with them even with your family. Most people don't take advantage of it, But it is one of the benefits of the Army at least it was when i served. Alot of the benefits though come from the civilian world though. They should increase the pay substantially especially in the military most careers are gurenteed to give you some type of injury or loss of life exspectancy so increased pay for placing your life on the line, & teaching soldiers how to use & make money to get ahead rather than keeping them living pay check to paycheck with little to retire on. I think if they taught people how to manage & make money they would have loads of new people signing up, just to get access to that help & such. Rather than have to pay for a accountant to do it all for you. You could learn to create your own bussieness & even if your life military they can teach you to manage your money so that when it comes that time, you can live like you are a bussieness owner.

Air Force has three years max to live in the barracks, whereas some soldiers in the Army have to stay in the barracks for around ten years. I think for specialty healthcare there are some nice benefits. I'm an RN and I'm going into an Army Nurse anesthetist (CRNA) program. The Army literally puts you on active duty with the sole job of going to a top-rated school for 100% free. Civi CRNA programs are 3-4 years and an average of $250k and can't be physically completed while holding a job. The time in the program counts towards retirement and you owe 5 on the back end. That's huge for me. I enlisted in the Guard for 3 years 12 years ago as an 11b; complete waste of my time. Didn't do anything, didn't gain anything other than meeting some inspirational people. And if you get hurt you can get something. In the civilian world you're SOL with social security

National Guard Soldiers should become fully fledged Veterans with all the benefits after at least 4 years or 5 years contracts. Some people don't know how hard this is like being disconnected from your Civilian world and going to Annual training, special orders, that can 1 or 2 months. Most of the employees don't pay military leave at so that means that if you are making some decent money and then your unit gets activated you would be just getting paid by the National Guard, sometimes is just like $140 a day or less. And if you can't even use Veteran benefits if you haven't been 180 in Active Duty, sometimes we just don't have the chance.

I served in the U.S. Army for my entire 8 year original contract, then got out and in my opinion I did enough to be the armed forceman GOAT. I did enough to overrun the previous armed forceman GOAT, George Washington. In a 1 v 1 battle, weapon or combatives I believe I would beat any armed forceman in hsitory, even anicient Greek warrior, Achilles. I’m the best.

Do you get any benefits for serving in the army two or fewer years.
@AR-qk3mg Жыл бұрын
As long as you have a CAC / Military ID you can get discounts anywhere most of the time, TSA priority, preboarding, checked bags, etc
@kayp4601 Жыл бұрын
Two years will get you about 80 percent of the post 9/11 GI Bill. Also, two years is the minimum for eligibility for VA healthcare.

Hi , is it possible to be enlisted without a Bonus ?
@AR-qk3mg Жыл бұрын
Yes, make sure you ask for a bonus or get an MOS that gets a bonus. I completed training a few days ago for MP OSUT and got a $20,000 sign on bonus, my battle buddy didn't ask for one and enlisted as an E-1 with NO bonus. Ask and they'll usually give you some sort of bonus.

It was better to be homeless and live out of the gym than the free housing. You pay for tricare it's taken out of your check, and you are better off paying for Healthcare it can cost you more like an amputation. At least you told the truth about college.

The biggest benefit for US soldiers is by far the behavior of your civilian population...as a german MSG in the german armed forces I can tell you that´s way different in Germany. As a german soldier you can be lucky when civilians just ignore you

What about single parents
@christopherchaos Жыл бұрын
You can't join active duty if you are a single parent. Only reserves or national guard. If you become a single parent after you are already in then they treat you the same as a married soldier.
@Monarchy17 Жыл бұрын
Hey Christopher Chaos! Thanks so much for all the info you provide for future soldiers, current soldiers and veterans! But for the comment above, I have a battle buddy who is a single mother, active duty in the same mos. I think single parents can join but they need a waiver and someone who can care for the child when you are away or if you get deployed. But single parents are in active duty. Talk to a recruiter about it. Where there’s a will, there’s a way🙏🏾

I mean im old af. If I were a young man, upping would never be an option for me as long as I may be in combat with a woman. I am all for women fighting if they WANT TO. I wouldn't be willing to fight with them. Which brings us to women's draft. Lol. Out of the question. Just for me. Cdl jobs start at 1500 a wk. 2200 or 2400 for an outstanding one.
