Hey, Odd! Happy to hear the great realizations that you are coming to such as spider speed making the jumping kinda less useful, and that you have to pick your biomes (despite my usual insistence that you should clear every block). The Bomb: sucks until you upgrade it, but when you do? Yeah... it go boom. It is less good, though, the further your meta progression. Resource Harvesters are actually really good, so long as you don't miss mining laser upgrades to get one. Its real power lies in the ability to leave mines early once you have the appropriate more rare materials that you need. Always vacuum toward the ship, not toward the character. Can't wait till we get some more XCOM!

Hey Chris, I think if you find a bomb thrower early on you might want to consider not upgrading the machine gun as much and focus more on bomb thrower upgrades since it clears enemies out much more effectively. Also upgrading rockets will help a lot for boss waves. Fun series so far!

A small tip, but upgrading the missiles helps a lot with the boss.

@@miles3101 Weapon swapping in general is very awkward in this game. You have to cycle through them, hard to remember what order they're in and identify which you're on until you test fire. Multiple weapons are tricky to begin with because of the split investment costs, but the UI needs be much better and quickly enable swapping to the weapon you want.

Thank you for explaining what you are buying, looking for, not just clicking on them in 0.2 seconds. :) Bug/scuff tip: I have seen the upgrade buying screen bugged out for others too, you can't click to buy (it happened with you last time at the beginning of a boss fight). Workaround: when bugged/scuffed you can STILL buy upgrades, only you have to navigate with keyboard onto the desired upgrade, then buy it. Only the mouse scuffs.

I think it might be a good idea to try and clear out the front area of the mine first rather than the 'deep diving' method you usual do. You stay in the Tether's range in the front of the mine, so if you clear that out first you can then use what you get to buy upgrades to make getting to and clearing out the back of the mine faster.

Regarding the bug in the upgrade Screen: I think that happens, if you have the mouse button clicked, when opening the Menu. It only happened to me during waves, at which point I had the mouse button held down to keep firing.

For the upgrade screen glitch, just close and reopen the upgrade screen. That lets you select stuff again.

18:50 Yes, you can cheese the waves by outrunning one of the little melee guys. The timer won't reset until it dies, but it will eventually catch up.

Great seeing you going left and right with the upgraded speed to avoid ranged hits, but dear God did you end up tanking all the hits in the end... 😆 As an old fps player, that really hurt to see, but the game is addicting and can't look away.

I think unless they change the bomb to NOT be held in the drill mouth preventing drilling, it is NOT worth using unless you are gonna drop it within the first few screens. Taking it in deep probably COSTS you more than it gains since you coulda semi mined lots of blocks as you pass them on the way in otherwise. So yeah- if you have any little areas near the start of your mine throw it at them otherwise leave it. (obviously thats without upgrades tho)

This statement false because - you can get huge buff for it randomly. - there will be additional "methods" clearing the mine entry area without you, so you can go deep and bring a bomb - bomb is also good for skipped mines and before combat wave: just toss it in, why not. But i agree its basic form is very clumsy, one of the worst thing you can find. THe regular one is good to toss it in early then drill, or when you brought plenty of ores/gems near the exit and start to bring them to the spider then it takes no effort to grab it and toss it in, why not. Extra "money", unless all cleared. The game dynamic changes as you progress, the bomb is different when you got zero starting upgrades, a few one, tons of them or almost all of them. Because those upgrades greatly affects mining, timing, game rythm when to do what.

Another thing iv seen people do is leave the last small flying creature of the first wave. The damage to the robospider is tiny but it won't trigger the timer for wave 2 untill you kill it

When you get the upgrade menu bug, You can also go to the ESC pause menu, and ESC out. Thats how I deal with that bug.

HI Odd, I found that to find the black resources you call Titaniums in the reddish biome you will have more luck heading downwards and the purple resources upwards. Kinda makes sense, reddish being magma and cyan being ice.

Not really sure about it, since I am not playing myself, but it seems like the red beiomes are always when you are going downwards and the other orbs when you go up. Not always paying full attention tot he videos, but that is the feeling I got so far.

The bomb seems better in the more advanced, tougher-block caves than the earlier ones. Probably don't bother using it unless it's one of those.

Love the game but devs need to change something about progression. I feel like I'm fumbling around every round, not knowing what to go for. I even tried a god-mode-cheat, just to figure out where late game would take me, to make better decisions in my game... just to find a dead end at one of the bosses that just isn't beatable. Would love to know how to beat the game...

resource harvester gives 4 basic blue gem per minute. (3 gives 12 perc minute) You can double it if upgraded, 8 per tower. It will bring it own price back slowly, never the exotic materials. Of course as for every upgrade there is a chance to find special extra effect for these as well, now that's another question.... :)

I'm enjoying playing the game, but I'm getting *real* tired of not being able to make it past the second boss. Lots of upgrades on the first page and my spider is quick, but I just get completely overwhelmed with enemies and never even destroy one of the 3 pustules. Getting tedious and it seems *way* up to the RNG. As long as I get a build option and can drop some turrets, especially if I have 2 or 3 closely-adjacent mines, I can put up a good fight, but without that or drones it becomes clear early on that the run isn't going to make it past the 40 minute mark. 😒

I felt stuck in the same place. Here are some suggestions for you: Upgrade your missile since it prioritizes the boss's pustules. Focus your fire on clearing enemies so you can dodge the boss attacks and let your missiles kill the boss. Focus your upgrades on two priorities: Increased mine-clearing speed and improved killing speed, in that order. I'm sure you can do it without just grinding for more meta progression!

Also....I just straight dont even take any of the other weapons. and i dont waste the time clearing the lil hallway or flying across the clearing to hit e on the weapon. you only ever find the shotty, the stake thrower, the bomb gun mostly, with maybe one or two things in variety that are rarer. The drone, turret, and barrage mines only ever come from the weird buried discs that plug your vaccum, and those are the best because they are in addition to your machine gun instead of replacing your machine gun. I use a drone and/or turret if i can, but i focus my machine gun for upgrades. Machine gun, exosuit, drone and or turret. in that order. lol. Everything else is uneccesary, at least up till the third boss. and the way that one acts and works makes me think you just are not supposed to get past it.

Oh man the bomb thrower is the best weapon I've used BY FAR out of the ones you can get early on. It just clears the waves so fast.

Its not a glitch that you cant upgrade. When using a mouse and keyboard you have to be stopped moving before you can activate upgrades and repairs. If your Robospider is in the middle of a walking animation it prevents you from using the upgrade interface. If you are holding the w or d key it wont let you. Just make sure you release the movement keys before upgrades and repairs.

This is just based on watching you and Wanderbot play but im pretty sure "small," "medium," and "large" mines refer to the number of mineable chambers, with small having one, medium having two, and large having three. Any chambers beyond the first should have a buried upgrade pod, so its not a huge opportunity cost when they dont have small extra chambers
