Actually, George Hutchinson got his PhD in American Literature and American Studies, and has not retired. He has taught at Cornell University since 2012.

Sorry, Chris, I just saw your question: I moved partly for love--to be near someone I was in a relationship with, and partly for the job. I love teaching at Cornell, especially as I get older, because it's much less strenuous than teaching in a big state university. I'm glad I taught at UT and IU, as well, though!
