Very good video. One common though, when comparing lower central and lateral, in reality the lower central looks more fan shaped and symmetrical compared to lower lateral.

Attention !!!! U said that lower 1 is asymtricl while the lower 2nd is symmetrical ... but these are opposite infact ... i mean to say lower 1 is symtrcl while lower 2 nd is asymtrcl !!! Refrence : Fuller dental anatomy and morphology !!!
@ChristopherStokes-Sheffield8 жыл бұрын
Thanks - A good point worth raising. I think where we differ is in where we are describing the symmetry. In the 'perfect' teeth used here, you can see the 1 and 2 differ, with the central showing an obvious difference mesial to distal (looking at the labial surface and the incisal edges) that the 2 does not have, and which allows for orientation mesial-distal much like for the upper incisors. However, if you look at the tooth from above, you are indeed correct that the 1 will appear symetrical, and the 2 will show a 'twist' that makes it unsymetrical.

@BingoDobber3 жыл бұрын
Hi Shirley - the models are adaptations of some really old large scale teeth to show some features more clearly (fissures, some cusps etc). I have put a link to a 3D printable file of a scan of the set of teeth in the comments.
