You do realize that it was in large part due to One: the disease had to spread across the country first. Second: trump and the rest of the republicans politicized the pandemic, hastening its spread and ensuring that more (of mostly their party) would be infected. Third: Biden presided over more deaths because he was in office longer with the pandemic. Fourth: trump had no plans to distribute vaccines once they were ready, so Joe had to work on that while actually giving the states the aid they needed since trump withheld aid. Fifth: thanks to trump not doing anything useful to hinder the pandemic, more people were already infected and suffering by the time Joe got in office, plenty of them already on deaths door due to lack of equipment because the previous administration refused to do anything. Did I miss anything or would you prefer to ignore the obvious?

I'm independent but after the introduction of maga, I'm left of center. It's not 4 years. It's 2. They have zero excuses. Either they'll show everybody they were right and we were wrong or they'll lose everything. Mid terms will be huge.

If the Democratic Party actually wakes up and remembers the importance of the working class, then maybe. I mean, yeah, it’s awful that we Dems lost, but let’s not pretend that this isn’t also a failure on the part of our party.

Chris is missing the actual issue by focusing on those figures. Under a winner takes all Electoral vote system, those 10m votes don’t matter. In 4 of the 7 swing states Kamala Harris got more votes than Biden, for the other 3 she was within 70k. Trump did better in 2024 than Biden did in 2020 did in all 7 swing states. In those states Kamala secured the same percentage of urban voters as Biden, her percentage of suburban and rural voters dropped significantly. A few hundred thousand, maybe a few million suburban and rural voters in seven states dictated the entire election, not the 10m who stayed home in safe seats.

The only upside I could think of would be, as is my understanding, the Republicans have the smallest majority in history (as of now) with only one Republican edging out the Democrats, so, if just two Republicans agree with Democrats on every bill, it fails.

yeah, it's their fault. nothing to do with genocide, or broken promises, or failure after failure to prosecute trump for his crimes, and certainly nothing to do with the american people, the "what's in it for me" nation, right, sure, and i have some beachfront property for sale down south, but you want to hurry up with an offer if you want to buy it before it breaks off and becomes a melting iceberg ...

Since I moved to the CNMI. I lost my right to vote. Everyone here and living on USA territories or Commonwealths are American citizens yet cannot vote for our president! Guam, Puetro Rico, American Samoa. and many other US areas can't even vote. Our Senators and representives can only influence other legislators. They can't even vote on bills!

We spend all of our time finger wagging at the voters but no finger wagging at the Democratic party whose ancient and fossilized leaders who are so out of touch with the needs of the common working class, that they might as well be in the oort cloud. We have millions of Americans in medical debt. We have people in this country having to open a "Gofundme" just to pay for their cancer treatment and a Democratic presidential candidate who openly opposed Medicare for all which would completely eliminate medical debt (the rest of the developed world has figured out how to do this but we can't). We are constantly being told about how wonderful the economy is under Biden and the Democrats and yet the federal minimum wage is still stuck at 7.25 pet hour. We are constantly being told that the Biden economy is the best we've seen within our lifetime and yet there are millions of Americans who've fallen through the cracks and are struggling paycheck to paycheck but we scold and shame them for not stepping up to defend an institution that has failed them and left them behind long ago. We act so shocked that when it comes to the status quo, many people would rather choose the guy who's gonna burn it all down. Let's just blame the voters as opposed to the whole system which has been such a failure that it led to Trump in the first place. Let's blame the people and not the bureaucrats in Washington who don't give a damn about us but only give a damn about their big, corporate money donors at their annual campaign fundraising events.

So which party created jobs, supported unions, dealt with price gouging, lowered prescription costs, increased veterans benefits, forgave student loans, regulated payday loans, handled Covid, passed new infrastructure,supported and expanded the affordable care act?
@rsine100Сағат бұрын
@lindakelley2676 I have student loans too and most of it hasn't been forgiven. My rent will go up another 50 dollars on the first of the year but my wages haven't. I have over a hundred dollars deducted out of every paycheck for company healthcare and yet I owe 6000 dollars out of pocket for two trips I had to take to the ER. The people whom I work with every day are also struggling. As I've stated, millions of people are still falling through the cracks. If the Dems are truly intent on helping everyone so that no one slips through any cracks, then they need to embrace bold, economic and political reform. Not tiny little tweaks around the edges that will just get undone by the next Republican. But the Dems don't want to go that far in fear of pissing off the donor class. I voted for Harris, but this will be the last time I play the game of voting for the lesser of two evils. From now on, if someone wants my vote then they need to earn it. There are certain policies I support that I will not budge on such as Medicare for all, UBI, tuition free public colleges and universities, the elimination of ALL student loans debts, and taking all those billions we send overseas and instead using those billions to fund a stronger social safety net for all Americans. Not to fund some genocide on the other side of the planet.
@LindaAlziebler-mt9qy30 минут бұрын
@rsine100 you are denying the good in favor of the perfect and nobody is perfect. Which one serves you better the Republicans or the democrats? Not who does all the things you want but who does more. All the social safety net is because of democrats. Social security and medicare...Democrats. the minimum wage that is so low woukd be even lower without Democrats. So if the democrats aren't doing what you want tell me how Republicans benefit you. What are they doing for you or anyone who isn't a billionaire. You sure as hell aren't getting a tax break from them or 25000 dollars for a down-payment on a house. What your getting is tariffs so higher prices. So what your getting is mass deportation that aside from being inhumane leads to higher prices. Ffs

According to U.S. News and World Report, the University of. Of Florida Lab estimates that close to 90 MILLION eligible voters did not vote. We still had a record turnout, but it still blows my mind that for an election this important, 90 million voters just… didn’t show.

Can someone factor in all the Republican efforts at voter suppression. They passed massive voter suppression laws after 2020 and in 2024 they focused on voter purges, voter challenges and gerrymandering. Also, what was Musk doing in his “voter registration” websites that didn’t actually register voters. I don’t place the full blame on Dems not voting but partially on Republican voter suppression tactics.
