What a game they are playing with the hearts, minds and soul of the elderly. Terrifying for those who have onset mental challenges and can’t figure this out. Shame on the insurance industry. Dental and vision needs to become PART of health care insurance. ESPECIALLY dental. Our teeth are parts of our bodies and can negatively impact our health if not properly taken care of. Vision problems contribute to falls and even medication errors and can negatively impact health. WHY are these considered "separate" in the first place?

I am really glad that this topic is being brought out into the open. The advantage plan is not what people think it is, and people can get denied care that they need. Watching your video I’m writing like crazy, using my iPhone for squares to scan, plugging in your website(s) to my gmail etc. Thank you thank you. Although I must admit I’m disappointed you do not offer assistance in my Commonwealth of MA; one other thing is many states have either a higher broker commission or depending on region a lower broker commission. In my opinion Medicare offered by an insurance agent is strictly a win win for them at the expense of seniors who have enough every day struggles! Disgusting, greedy principles!

The agent who signed me up originally 7 years ago NEVER presented any supplement plans. I thought he was looking out for me when he recommended that I switch from my Keystone 65 HMO Silver plan for $25 a month to a Keystone 65 HMO Basic plan with a $0 monthly premium. Now that I've learned about the differences in advantage plans & suppemental plans, I feel cheated and a bit angry . The agent is a local guy in my very small town and was recommended to me by my county's Office of Aging. In order to save other seniors from being bamboozled like I was, I'd like to expose him. But, I won't because I'm not that type of person. I'll definitely tell someone if they happen to ask me, but I won't shout it from the rooftops like I want to, and he deserves.

How come the ACA regulations doesn't require people on regular health insurance to "go through underwriting" for pre-existing conditions but senior citizens have to go through medical underwriting for supplemental plans and drug plans but not to change to an Advantage Plan? Why are seniors being manipulated in this way? I have a 30 year old son who gets coverage through the Marketplace and he doesn't have to go through medical underwriting to change insurance companies during the enrollment period. He just has to input his doctors and the medications that he takes. (he takes a migraine medication). Congress is in the pockets of insurance companies obviously.

My sisters were duped into taking an ADVANTAGE plan. Now if they try to go back to original Medicare the supplement insurance will be able to review their health and charge them exponential higher premiums. There seems to be NO GOING BACK to original MEDICARE if you are duped into taking one of these Advantage plans. These sisters of mine were on original Medicare until someone called them telling them they could "save them money." My sister never knew, because they were not told, that they had LEFT ORIGINAL MEDICARE... the plan they had paid for all their working years.. When I asked them if they knew they were not on original Medicare, they were shocked to find they WERE NOT!!!! WHAT A SCAM ADVANTAGE PLANS ARE. And it looks like, if the government does NOT step in and do something, it will only get worse.

Thanks for your site. I have subscribed to it. I am an agent selling Medicare supplement. I’ve been doing it for nearly 18 years; in earlier days it was a lot easier because people weren’t being bombarded by phone calls, and MA plans didn’t originally have all the fake benefits they advertise now. MA plans are my biggest competition, and I cringe every time I lose another client to an MA. I am licensed for the stupid things because I do help people find stand alone PDP plans, and I have two companies that pay me a pittance for doing them. I don’t believe in MA plans, so I don’t do them.

She then canceled my appointment and scheduled me with another agent to sell me ADVANTAGE PLAN - NO - NO - NO. I then called Medicare and the person I spoke with said she had NEVER heard of not being allowed back onto Original/Traditional Medicare for that reason in my state, Washington. You provide lots of good info and then I talk about it and it gets all screwed up. This system is broken along with everything else in the USA. YIKES - Still no plan ..... grrrrr
@ChristopherWestfall Жыл бұрын
1) I'm glad you were able to get an appointment. Over 700 people are still on a waiting list. 2) It's not just ANY medication whose change prevents an underwritten application approval. Specifically diabetes meds, and this is called uncontrolled diabetes, to the insurance companies per their definition. 3) You were given inaccurate information by Medicare, as they do not know one thing about Medicare Supplement Underwriting, which is approved by the states. You weren't declined for Medicare, just for the Supplement. Washington State has guarantee issue rules for Medicare Supplement but only after you already have one. You can see this information here: www.insurance.wa.gov/when-can-i-sign-or-switch-medigap-plans#:~:text=However%2C%20if%20you%27re%20switching%20from%20some%20other%20type%20of%20health%20insurance%20plan%20to%20a%20Medigap%20plan%2C%20rules%20can%20vary%20and%20insurers%20may%20require%20you%20pass%20a%20written%20health%20screening%20questionnaire. As a licensed agent and agency in Washington State, we know the Medicare Supplement rules intimately. If you are in a condition where you cannot be approved for a Supplement, yes, you should get on the very best-suited Advantage plan for 2024 and then try for Underwriting again next year. Sorry, not our rules. But this is the best with a bad situation. We can help with an Advantage plan review here: SignMyScope.com until 12/7 and then again 1/1 through March 31. Or you can look, yourself here: MedicareAdvantageNearMe.com We can only do what we can do with what is presented to us. We always do leave someone in a better position than when they reached out to us, if they listen to our advice.

I worked at nursing rehab that shut down. The financial staff called You- care, U-suck. I repeatedly was warned about the problem with advantage plans while I was decades away from Medicare. Patients who weren’t physically ready to go home were forced to go home. Which yes sends people back to the hospital when they aren’t ready to function at home.
