Hi Paul I am an old Irish guy also.. living the west coast of Ireland.. was taken by your comments.. I was a seafarer for most of my life.. a sea captain. I first visited Australia in 1964 Melbourne when I was a teenager and had a great time there it was the time of the swill hour when the pubs were open for two hours only- no passports needed for seafarers in those days.. young people today have no idea. What i wanted to say was you should check out irish hurling.. a great irish sport.. in fact the fastest game in the world played on a green field.. and all by amateurs.. a lot of them like you with your name Brennan coming from that great county Kilkenny.. the home of hurling and the Brennans. This is a sad and true song. Everyone should hear this song at least once and it reminds me of all those who suffered and died doing what they believed was a war to end all wars. The words in this song tell everyone why we salute those who fought for freedom. Brilliant song, sung so well and the haunting tone of the accordion works so well. Thanks for posting and thanks to the singer and accordion player. I loved it.
