looks like he has got a handle of the hardest lesson any pro athlete can learn, which is to understand that as you age you are not who you used to be,and while your competetive streak might never fade your body ultimately does and you need to adjust yourself accordingly

Frank has always been one of my favorites. He’s one of the reason I started training BJJ. I’m just really curious what ever happened between He and Richard Hunter. I loved their podcast “Phonebooth Fighting” and it just disappeared and was never addressed. Anyone know what happened?

Duuude you got my boy on!! My first ever live UFC event was 38 "The Brawl At The Hall" here in England in 2002 lifetime ago. I went specifically to see Frank & Matt Hughes do their thing in the flesh, was a bad day at the office for him that night but always a treasured memory to be there 😁 this is going to be good.(edit crazy how people you watched when you were younger aren't much older but seemed it Frank's 5 years older than me what the hell!)

Back when I got out of jail end of 2009 i got a laptop and had Internet for first time ever, I used to KZbin Frank mir and dana white interviews everyday, they both had me glued, I think Frank is the most forgotten star in the history of the ufc, he was intelligent, well spoken,a wind up and honest all at the same time. The way he was ripping brock so well was the beginning of the clever talk era that cheal made explode, before him it was tito and Ken talking smack but that was pure emotion, Frank turned it into a game by being intelligent 🙌

I competed low level pro and trained and cornered a number of fighters, nowhere near Frank's level, but I understood years ago what he's saying 7:30 in. I mainly coached guys with a Wrestling background like myself coming into mma and we never did full boxing workouts. I was taught early from Erik Paulson what is called shootboxing training where you spar with boxers wearing boxing gloves and wear mma gloves yourself and pary punches 👊 and go for takedowns.
