Put blue elemental ward on hildryn and spam pillage. Expending shields counts as taking damage. Damage gets multiplied and reflected to everything around you.

As it turns out, an elemental warframe that has an empty ability slot you still can't helminth over, an ability you can give to any frame, an ability that has nothing to do with elemental damage, and an ability that negates one archon mod, barely triggers another, and generally has terrible stats won't be the best frame to use that second ability on (and wouldn't be the best frame to use the third one on if there were other options)

Slightly related but there is a fun exploit with cold ward if you also use melee influence. If melee influence procs, enemies that shoot you proc cold, but then spread cold around in an aoe as if it was dealt by your melee weapon so having it on will freeze enemies solid passively in the next update. I'm a relatively new player (I'm roughly 2/3 done with star chart), and I find it relieving but also sickening how much stuff went over my head in this video. A solid bit of this video had things I've never seen before, and definitely never seen in such concentration and amounts. On one hand I'm glad I'll have lots of room for progress and fun/challenge, and on the other hand I'm realizing just a little more what people mean when I keep seeing stuff about "ungodly grind". All that said, it really is nice to see there's only options as far as the horizon stretches.

Very glad to read your perspective as a (relatively) new player! Showing the infinite possibilities of builds is exactly what I was going for and I'm happy that hit the mark even for you. The grind is definitely significantly less bad than it was a couple years ago, and a couple older items even got their grind significantly reduced as well, otherwise you usually don't need that much platinum to trade for old grindy mods due to how much supply there is. The grind will forever exist though due to, as you've noticed, how maaaaaaaany items exist in the game with all kinds of categories and combinations. Even I don't try to grind for every new item anymore so I'm back to where you're at, just doing new quests or getting the next item that looks cool or useful and having fun along the way.

you can choose the element with Chroma mid-mission with Spectral Scream, but others can only choose by setting the cosmetic Emission color (in this case green) which isn't great

Unrelated, except for the “quirky but fun” category. Loki with “Mind Control” helminth in place of his 3rd. “Damage Decoy” augment, power strength at least 150-200. Sends back 600% of their damage, and prevents the “decoy” enemy from dying. So he just follows you around with the highest aggro cc in the game, get kills lol. Not fast or efficient by ANY means. But ya gotta have fun with WF

Don't forget that switch teleport also taunts enemies to the targeted enemy. So if u switch tp a target, then decoy + mind control, that'll be ultimate aggro lvl. More than mallet probably. (don't compare to resonator as that's a charm buff)

Yep, I did that in VRChat with a custom Nezha player model I set up just for the skit, got a whole bunch of people I hang out with in one place, and basically directed them to get excited! I just finally got around to building a Chroma to throw into the Helminth... Time to see if I can make this build work with my umbralized Lavos.

Actually, I came up with a way dumber idea. I dunno if it's going to work, but two words: Toxic Meatball. Grendel's 2 can reliably put 10 stacks of viral on everything, and the breakpoint for 100% armor strip on meatball and 100% status chance on Ward is the same. So in theory, you should be able to just subsume it on Grendel's 4 and kill groups of enemies just by rolling through them. Grendel's normal 4 also benefits from Toxic shards, so a full set of them will help his normal build, too.

So I tried this, and... It almost works. I'm getting 100k+ toxin procs. Which is almost as good as what I get from Grendel's 4 normally (that's closer to 200k, but this scales to HP). The showstopper is that meatball moves too fast and knocks enemies out of range of Ward. It's a real shame that ability range doesn't effect the toxic aura, this would actually be sort of viable if it did.

Aaaaand I have to be honest, looking at the math, subsume Roar outpaces Chroma's damage at even mid powerstrength. But Chroma is more than enough anyways!

@@KhristianBolanoit makes all ability and weapon damage spread doom status, which essentially executes enemies when they take damage equal to 50% of the health they had when they were inflicted with the status effect. But, to answer the original question, it sadly won’t work too well, because “future” damage from toxin or other DoT stacks doesn’t detonate Doom status until said DoT ticks enough for it to have dealt 50% of enemy health in actual damage, and while Wyrd Scythes with their viral procs can expedite the process a bit, it just won’t be that amazing. Unfortunately this gimmick is pretty much stuck to a niche mecha set loadout

I can understand Moas, even though they're so bad expecially after the introduction of Nautilus Prime. I think I'm just too lazy to spend resources and time on a Mecha build even though it looks very strong. I would miss the utilities of robotic companions way too much. I hope the companion rework part 2 extends those possibilities because they look very cool

@@KhristianBolano I think there’s two reasons: First is that Companions as used in the mecha set description is pretty outdated terminology, which used to at some point mean basically just Pets, whereas Sentinels meant floating buddies over your shoulder. Nowadays we have the Companions act as a stand-in word for anything in the companion slot, with the separation between Animal and Robotic Companions first, then further separated into subcategories such as Kavats, Helminth, Predasites etc. for animals and Moas, Sentinels and Hounds for robots. So when Mecha says “Companions” what it really means is “Animal Companions”, and the Hounds, despite the name, are modular robots (just like Moas tbf), and at the time of Mecha set release would’ve been classified as Sentinels rather than Companions. Second reason is that Mecha set is older than Hounds so it wasn’t made with them in mind, and is dependent on the innate attack stats of animal companions which Hounds don’t inherently possess because of their separately equipped and separately moddable weapons. It was either a coding difficulty or a balancing concern, so Robotic Companions got Contagious Bond as an alternative. We might see the situation change as the next stage of companion rework is close to release, so who knows, maybe the Hounds will get the ability to equip Mecha someday

Honestly I find myself very well with Hounds and despite Nautilus and Verglas Prime being both the best sentinel and best sentinel weapon, I still kinda prefer the Hound for utility since it primes enemies like no other companion. Synergized Prospect + Manifold Bond is an hell of a prospect. Plus I can slot many more mods in because it doesn't need an attack precept, being manually revivable is also good since you can't equip Primed Regen on it. If you really need to, there are 3-4 other companion mods that reduce the reviving timer which are Tenacious Bond, Momentous Bond, Aerial Bond and the one with the Health Orbs. It's also able to equip Reinforced Bond + all the possible hound utility combinations like Null Audit. I just think they're underused despite how easy is obtaining one. I don't even think they need to be able to equip the Mecha mods in order to be good, just that it would make sense. I'm super curious about how they'll rework the whole companion balance since the direction is Nautilus and Verglas Prime in terms of power level. Maybe a decent attack pattern/weapon for all the companions without a gun/glaive? That would be great

Welp it does work, it multiplies the Toxin damage after the Shard damage increase, I didn't actually have the mod and had to buy it to find out lol. I think it is extremely overkill for this build though considering that duration does basically the same thing but also lets the procs last longer for chain reactions. In the end you are still forced to use Lavos, so I'd say its a nice substitute for Viral or Tau Emerald Shards. I love those kind of secret stuff, they actually make the helminth system a way to build your frame differently, give it additional layers rather than just going for Roar or the likes. Welcome back to youtube as well! Is there a way to make the Lavos build work without the Mecha mods? I honestly don't like Kubrows at all. I guess the status spread is what makes it really good, even though status spread in general is broken as a mechanic. Maybe just switch to Verglas Prime sentinel with Contagious bond? Making Chroma work with this toxin build would also be great since he's really only good at being a serration platform. After all, we just need to reach 100% status chance of toxin elemental ward so 200% strength, good for chroma. Then we need Chroma to survive, might be a challenge without the other elemental wards, but there's always some kind of shield tank/shieldgate option at disposal we can use. At that point we just have an immortal frame that automatically kills things that get close, even in 2 ticks of damage would be good enough

Unfortunately all the Mecha set's stats (AOE, cooldown, mark duration) scale with the amount of set mods, and Kubrows hold half the Mecha mods so the initial spread would be really shit and infrequent without a Kubrow to complete the set No Mecha set means Contagious Bond only works if your pet gets the killing blow, anything else (including you or the original Ward proc) killing enemies won't spread procs. Mecha Set procs start off of any killing blow and count as Pet damage which is why it spreads very reliably

​@@JelMei oh there's a secret to let contagious bond nuke without letting the pet do the major job. I covered a vid about hound nuke. If anyone watches that, you'll notice that I let my hound proc first heat on enemies, then I finish off a single enemy with furis heat procs. Heat inherit allows the final kill to be credited to my hound instead of my furis, resulting in triggering contagious bond!

@@A_Game_Zone Heat procs are a funny subject I know a bit about, you actually do not need the Hound for this, this also works with any companion weapon/ability with heat procs: Heat procs are basically a single damage instance with 1. Stored damage and 2. Status duration. As long as the heat proc was started by a companion, it will count as companion damage for Contagious Bond no matter how many times it has been refreshed by other heat procs. Bonus info: Because a heat proc can endlessly store damage, if you start a heat proc with super high base damage but base/worse status duration, if you hit the same enemy with a different weapon modded for high status duration then the heat proc inherits the new status duration while keeping the super high base damage of the first hit. This is especially funny with Gauss' Thermal Sunder: Because it consumes an entire heat proc's remaining duration, you can prime a high damage heat proc with a super high status duration heat proc and immensly increase Thermal Sunder's final damage!

Thanks for all the stat confirmation BTW, I used to have doubts about what buffs did the other procs inherit. Still trying to figure out with other wf buddies if elementalist mods inherit for heat. My total sum-up for heat inherit was simply that DEvs intended the proc duration refresher mechanic but accidently allowed the first proc to just repeat, which means preserving the properties. Then might've got some reports that the other procs aren't showing variation in dmg so they tried to "fix" it and that resulted in todays "heat inherit properties without preserving exact same dmg every time"

afaik Harmony deletes all the DOT procs before damaging the enemy with their total damage, so Harmony kills can't spread Ward procs via Mecha Set because the procs are deleted before Mecha Set can check for them

Most of my loadouts aren't that out of the ordinary, just some basic stat minmaxing or AOE builds that anyone can come up with, that's why my exciting builds get their own videos :) Heck my daily driver is a boring ass Oberon jack of all trades build because I like being ready for any situation and (politely) stopping my teammates from dying I think the only controversial thing about it is that I refuse to use Phoenix Renewal because I believe replacing it with a Strength mod is better for stopping teammates (and Oberon) from dying due to more heal and armor, but that's just my opinion

Yeah, if you have enough extra damage multipliers his 1+2 combo can become a self-sustaining ghost swarm.

The madlad actually did it! He made a Chroma ability build! I do want to see if this can actually be used on Chroma. The armor strip is trivial, Corrosive procs, Terrify, Pillage, Pets, a billion things work. Ward being locked at 5 meters makes things a lot harder though. Apparently cold ward counts as melee damage and spreads through melee influence. Shame you can't do that with Toxin, I think this makes Kubrow the only answer? Unless Hounds can also use mecha mods?

Hounds can't use the Mecha Set Kubrow mods unfortunately A Chroma build could work if you have some way to group enemies together (like Exodia Hunt) so that you can proc Ward on them and then apply Sickening Pulse (should work much better after the recent Armor nerfs) or Expedite Suffering

@@JelMei I wonder if instead of just trying to spread the aoe all at once it'd be better to use companions to taxi it around. The fact the clones are unmodded wouldn't matter and the fact they're immortal would be useful. Idk if other pets can get away with it but I'm psure the hounds keep their melee mods so they could be their own armor strip. The pet wouldn't be at 100% max health damage though, you could maybe make up for this with theorem contagion? Though the clone pets don't like to stick with you, maybe just big status chance and viral on the weapons? That should take you over 100% unless your shards don't buff others aura damage. I wonder if pets having the aura counts as kills for them or kills for you. If it counts contagious bond may help add back in the aoe, but give you a bit more flexibility than mecha. I do not have the resources to test any of this rn sadly.

There's a hard cap on the hp drain of that boss. There's also status limit cap. Harmony can do good with afflictions. But the weird part is, warframe abilities that can dmg even bosses without status work best. Someone did a vid of Octavia soloing the boss with Mallet and for some reason, the DR was less against mallet but if u start using weapons, it'll increase DR. So the trick is to cast mallet (or 2 mallets through augment) and then just stay away from the boss while invisible.

You can reduce the cooldown with Transmutation Probe, assuming you haven't overwritten it If you want to make its cooldown reduction a bit better you can replace Blind Rage with Precision Intensify, though this will reduce the damage of everything else and forces you to overwrite Lavos' ult with Ward

I have to ask, if we had two emerald shards for +4 corrosive, does Sickening Pulse push the corrosive procs up to 14? Also I don’t understand the significance of Lavos’ passive here.

increases the duration of the toxins so when they spread to others, they'll last much longer (assuming that they continue to tick meaning that when an enemy with 18s toxin ticks 4s to a 14s toxin, then dies, it'll spread a 14s and a 18s toxin to the next enemy, which my guess as to why they did that) also valence formation.

I know it’s been awhile since this video (only just found it but loving the build) but was wondering if there were any primary’s to recommend (I was going to turn some prime with toxin mostly for style)

You can use any weapons you want for killing Mecha Set marked enemies, the Bronco+Finisher combo in the video is just a fun and effective recommendation. A big reason for the finisher working well is because Ward applies procs in 1 second intervals, and since the finisher lasts more than 1 second Ward is guaranteed to proc on the enemy during it. You have to be careful with other weapons since you need to make sure to not kill the enemy too early before Ward procs. However, if you see a new Mecha marked enemy that has existing Ward procs from an ongoing chain reaction, high damage Sniper Rifles like Rubico are a great choice to kill them and spread more procs from any distance.

yep, not sure if it's a good idea for Lavos though because while I don't have Harmony yet, wiki says it removes all procs (including Toxin) which might happen before Mecha Set gets to spread them, but maybe they don't get removed if it kills

@@Aeria11b constantly consuming and reapplying Ward procs with Harmony sounds like an interesting use case. While I don't think it would be useful for Lavos, it could work really well for Nezha's Divine Retribution since as I point out at 3:13, it can spread procs as long as the enemy you're attacking doesn't have them. In theory you'd spear a crowd, then keep spamming proc + Harmony on one enemy to spread several Ward procs to all other speared enemies, though it might be slow due to Ward's 1 second proc interval
