I know this is old but for anyone who doesn't know, you can put Vaseline around your face edges, ears and neck to avoid staining, the dye can't penetrate it. Just make sure your hair doesn't get a bunch on it!

It turned out really well. The other videos I've seen so far they bleached them out first. I'm hesitant about bleaching...my hair sucks to begin with. It's a joke about who sheds more...me or the cat! The others did layer thin pieces of foam in between to avoid bleeding but looking at you maybe not necessary. Wish me luck! First time doing 2 tones...gulp!

Direct dyes don't bleed, so you really don't need to seperate the layers like you do with a dye that has ammonia! Also, her hair is already bleached in some areas so you do need to lighten hair beforehand.

It's beautiful! I've had the product quite a while (not same brand I just saw your post today) but I am afraid bc I feel I'm going to butcher it. yes always be careful when lightening your hair. I recommend going to a professional and have them recommend what they think your hair can handle :)

Hello! I love your end results!!! I just love purple hair but I stopped doing it purple because I would stain shirts, pillows, clothes and even my neck! It was a constant hassle of wiping the color stains from my neck and couldn't wear any light color clothes because they would end up getting stained. Do these colors you applied stain? I'm ok with the dye bleeding when showering/washing but not when it's dry

Hi! Thanks so much for your question. Some colors can but I always recommend to rinse as much as possible until the water runs clear. shampoo a couple times gif needed and you should be good :)

Thank God I found you ok so I went to go get balayage and they left the top too long and bottom a little bit of time using same level of peroxide I know they did so then when they rinsed it it looked silver on top and yellow on bottom so.. I decided to play with my hair and put purple violet manic panic and got amazing colors blue purple and silver and a little hint of pink but now I really want it like yours love it but I don't have my license yet and I can only go to Sally's which brands would you recommend but I want like a dark root not color. With your natural dark hair, how did you initially do the bleaching?
