It is easier when the red CV doesn't focus on spotting DD's , but... that said, I would not have been able to do this.

Anapolis complains about CV spotting is gold. Yes, he made a point, the cv never spotted the halland, but that's not the reason for him to keep sailing in a straight line knowing the presence of the Halland AND after taking a torp salvo. Can't say whose problem is more massive, given that Halland is the DD with the best AA while anapolis is only 2 knots slower than the halland while also possessing a radar only 1 km below his spotting range.

Have to say don't approve of torping a slowing hannover and ignoring the cruisers who were burning down the Alsace, he could have at least forced 2 of them to broadside to the bb which might have kept the BB alive. That decision may have cost his team his flank, on the plus side it kept them alive long enough for him to kill many of them.
