It's a surprise how a Metal Coat got humiliated by one of the game's original Starters, since they'd be perfect equals in battle. This is hype, and I can't wait to see Dranbuster take the stage.

I had also meant to comment underrated thumbnail work by you guys fusing the beys' blades together. This also gives me hype/hope for (sorry I'll edit this later, haven't kept up with the series/manga to remember Kamen's first team (also I try to avoid spoilers)) a Team Pendragon (okay I actually rewatched the vid to get the name right and I did!) version of Cobalt Drake like we got a Team Persona version of Hell Scythe

In that episode there was a chrome vs ekkusu flashback between cobalt drake vs dran sword. But it was not explained who won. But I hope cobalt drake is sold as regularly as phoenix wing.

BBUX is gonna be insane. It's *really* hard to top Hellsscythe and Dran Sword in terms of consistent design. Despite the similarities, the science is so interesting in a matchup like this one because Dran Sword's high recoil meets Cobalt Drake's durability. When one of these attackers leans really hard, it can spike other beys downward so they scrape the stage. If both of their spiked edges meet it makes a fun explosion. The new shapes like Hellshammer's deflection dips and Buster's one shot attacks should really shake up these more standard feeling matchups that Phoenix Wing and similarly styled beys give us. That being said, the state of the game being very attack and balance heavy makes it a lot more exciting than the end of metal fight where we had to deal with Basalt/Twisted, 230 tracks, and metal face bolts. Thanks BBGs especially for scuffing your Cobalt Drake, that's purely for the love, and I appreciate the dedication.

Back in the day beyblades had metal rings, different sizes and could be adapted into heavier and more sturdy. Seems to me that they're all standardized nowadays and winning is more a matter of "luck"

There actually are different sizes, not as much as plastic gen, but as an example Dran Dagger and Rhino horn are obviously a little smaller then the base size, Sphinx Cowl is a bit smaller then usual as well. As far as weight/Sturdy goes, the new UX Wizard Rod has a tip that looks like it'll be really good for those heavier hard to knock out combos. These guys videos are just stock combos, so you don't tend to see the combinations that do really different things

It adds to the risk/reward emphasis this gen, faster attack types have more chances to catch the extreme line for big ko's and burts but run the risk of losing stamina to the arena all the same. Whereas a defense bey is less likeley to grind on the extreme line costing it stamina but is more likeley to win in a spin finish awarding it less points.
