I've loved Chromeo since I bought their Fancy Footwork album back in 2007. This remix is ok, though I prefer Chromeo's original electro/disco/funk sound ( the fact that I don't hate this remix, I give that credit to Chromeo - their music is so good, it would be difficult to do a bad remix of their songs). Too bad I don't feel the same way about The Chainsmoker's original stuff. Using the word "original" is kinda ironic seeing as they blatantly borrow their sound from several other popular artists, unfortunately, the music they create is of EDM's lowest common denominator: trite and uninspiring with no real substance, once you look past the catchy (at times) hooks & riffs. They've managed to luck out with some popular singles and a surprising, meteoric rise, but I seriously doubt it can last. When that day finally comes, I won't feel too bad for them because even if I DID love their music, there is no denying success couldn't have happened to two more egotistical, self agrandizing douches (they have the persona of the Gallagher brothers, if Oasis was in the EDM genre). So when their popularity and public interest finally wane, hopefully they'll have been smart & at least saved/invested most of this money they're currently making and won't have blown most of it. That way they can still manage to have a comfortable, albeit obsure life, and the music industry will nevet have to hear about them again - a win-win for everyone!

Nah, they didn't luck out, just take a look at one of their production tutorials. Some of their tracks show a high level of love for detail, despite maybe being uninspired mainstream productions considering the melodies. This is why they are so successful, if everybody else could do it, they wouldn't be, since they don't live by a personal brand image like Nicki Minaj etc., they're just successful because of their music. There are many better artists, who are less successful, for sure. But the Chainsmokers definitely are among the objectively best producers, when only considering artists within their genre, who are as successful as they are.
