Incomptence of the bicuspid valves in the veins leads to chronic venous hypertension and consequent venous insufficiency syndrome. This has numerous adverse effects on tissue viability and wound healing.

@Dr Johnson, what are the surgical options for Venous DESEASE in my legs!??
@Z-Ack2 жыл бұрын
They have non invasive procedured involving replacing the damaged veins or stents placed in areas to allow the areas of backups to flow easier.. but blood thinners are sometimes prescribed but you must see a specialist first to determine viability and risks assumed when taking thinners with such a disease..

Thank you Dr. Campbell. You make it easy for us to understand CVI.

What can be done to help when you have that problem.

Look up Professor Mark Whiteley of The Whiteley Clinics. I have had all my treatments here in 2018 after being rated a C6 in my left leg. I am now HUGELY improved and haven’t looked back since. Was the best money I ever spent. Not many Vascular doctors are able to carry out these treatments. You need a Vein Scientist who is also a Phlebologist who works on veins every day, working together with an Interventional Radiologist.

Aren't there supplements you can take that help to reduce fibrin?
@Z-Ack2 жыл бұрын
You wouldnt want reduced fibrin and a localized reduction would still compromise other down stream areas which msy need to utilize it.. which would involve dialysis treatments for the healthy portion of the body i assume.. otherwise blood thinners are however prescribed for some to alleviate this backup allowing the blood to be carried easier in these backed up areas, that is if the venous system isnt compromised in a way that will cause the edema to worsen or increase chances of the increased flow to carry clots increasing instances of dvt and buildup in more critical areas. Im not a dr but i did stay at a holiday inn last night... and dr campbell explains it in a logical way where conclusions can be drawn from other reasonings of as to why if youve read about cvi, the relevance of such statements as "blood thinners may be prescribed in some instances after certain tests have been performed". However the logic of simply using compression garments still boggles the mind as to why they would help the situation as whether the area is swelling a bit more or less you would think the damage would still be occurring causing continual breakdown of the cell walls and exasperating the problem at hand. But guess the comfortability and quality of life would be increased from the area not being so swollen.. so the only way it seems to treat the issue would be with surgery to replace the weak veins and hope that afterwards the clots that have formed over the period of living with the insufficiency dont migrate sooner rather than later.. so surgery to alleviate the issue could ultimately increase probability of stroke, heart attack, dvt and other blood clot issues which in my mind are much more severe and common , even in people without cvi , than just dealing with the cvi.. im 35 and i have cvi but having the surgery at my age would put my percentage of having this future issue much higher than if i was in my 70's or 80's.. having already gotten that itch you cant scratch enough after removing socks after work i scratched a huge place in my sleep which went from a no big deal thing i normally would view it as, to a 2 month long sore that hurt worse than any other small cut ive ever gotten and with swelling made it ooze and throb so i had to squeeze the leg, forcing the fluid out to relieve pain which made the wound much larger turning it into a 5" sq area.. which hurt the entire time it was there.. and itched like hell.. so im accepting the fact that in the future ill develop the whole ulcer deal with ganglion nastyness and lose a leg.. quality of my life wont be improved with the curing of this disease... unfortunately..,

Yes there are procedures that can cure or at least hugely improve venous Insufficiency. I have been through all of this. I’m from England and had my treatments at a specialist vein clinic in London in 2018. I have not looked back since.

@@eveoakley6270what does these mean in the reality?
@eveoakley627011 ай бұрын
@@redblacktichy7713 it means I developed Venous Insufficiency through a freak blood clot caused through the contraceptive pill. In 2918 I paid six thousand quid to a specialist vein clinic for Duplex Vein Mapping Scan and had EVLT, TRLOP and Ultrasound Foam Guided Sclerotherapy. I haven’t had any symptoms since.
