Hello Kayla! We're so glad you and Jaelyn like the stuffed animals! Sometimes those first time heifers make it hard on you with breach calves! 😉 Thank-you so much for the shoutout! We're so happy that we found your channel and love watching your videos! Thank-you for sharing! Looking forward to more videos!

A trick that may make it easier for you if you want to change sleeves each time but you don’t want to have to take the shoulder cover on and off each time is this. Get 2 sleeves and tear all the fingers off of one (tearing rather than cutting keeps the holes small), this will be your base sleeve. Next put on the base sleeve so that your fingers are sticking out through the holes. Put the shoulder guard on next and buckle it in place. Finally put the second sleeve(the one with the fingers still intact) on over the base sleeve. Inseminate the cow; remove the outer sleeve and discard. Then place a new sleeve over the base sleeve, and rinse and repeat until you are done. This may make things easier. I have found this helpful for me and I hope that it can help you.

We do AI first early in the spring I keep track on the calendar so I know when their next heat is. We do 2 rounds of ai then if they don't catch we put a bull in mid June. Heifers are much easier to start on avg is 1 in 3 so good for my first year

Will you be preg checking those girls in a couple of months? With all the rain we've been getting lately, Missouri is going to be a steam bath next week. Are you planning on doing silage again this year. Stay hydrated, stay safe. God bless

Yes to all those!!! So much rain. 2more inches today everything is so saturated!! But it’s a warm rain which is still helping the hay fields grow!! We will be putting bulls in by 5.10.22 - then preg check as Hay season Allows! 🌽 corn Silage will be planted soon as well - one day at a time Jason reminds me

This is an excellent method of getting "top notch" genetics for your beef breeding herd. And congratulations on learning how to A.I. . That's taking the bull or should i say cow by the horns. Fingers crossed.

Ai is good because you can use different bulls and timeing when you breed the cow is also good.

good AI 👍 # but before inserting AI gun & sheath over it , clean it sterilized saline water if the gun & sheath had touched cloths or any other object # it needs experience to accurately feel or palpate Cervix # had U used Angus semen or any other ????

Clean sleeve with every single one - we used Hereford semen with these girls to get the F1 Black Herefords that I’m using to take our genetics too
@kkennedy96232 жыл бұрын
@@ChroniclesofKayla so an F1 Angus hereford cross is considered a black hereford? I thought a black hereford had only enough Angus blood to change the color and an F1 cross just generated black baldy calves.
@ChroniclesofKayla2 жыл бұрын
So to get the “Registered” F1 must cross Registered Hereford x registered black angus = To be ABHA (AM Black Hereford Association) & registered…. There’s a lot of chatter about “black baldies” - they can be really bred from simis, red Hereford, red or black angus, Charolais - to get the commerical “black Baldie” … I’ve done a lot of research over the last 2 years …. Herefords are a lot more docile + have a better maturing nature (aka KAYLA doesn’t need to get hurt & neither does anyone else) - but in our area & sale barn time. They still want that BLAck hide. I can’t compete in the area with Black Angus …. My 5 year goal is to be able to Offer Replacement Black Hereford Heifers & Cow Calf Pairs directly - I also don’t plan to take the whole herd registered either. We still need those Commercial style cattle to feed America.
