I mean, we've been in a steadily worsening drought around here for the past 1.5 centuries or so soooo, uh, yes, the grass actually *was* greener and the sky actually *was* bluer when this was written, around where I live anyways...seriously it did not used to go brown during summer unless some thoughtless idiot decided to import, oh I dunno, english emeraldgrass or something for their lawn (it's so green they actually _de_ colorize it when filming tv and movies because it looks fake as-is but it needs so much water it's borderline wetland vegetation)

So true. These games do a very good job of that. I noticed something that sucks... It's harder to get immersed these days... Games tend to be crappier and less orig but also being older and so busy now keeps me from having the time to just chill out and get lost in the game. Such is life... I love how Yasunori Mitsuda treats the Chrono Trigger theme in various of his songs. You can hear it here in 'Fields Of Time', 'Dreams Of The Ages', 'Chronomantic', all from Chrono Cross, and in 'Memories Of Green' and of course 'Chrono Trigger', from the first game of the saga. Truly the greatest soundtrack for a videogame saga.

@rileyboy10 3 жыл бұрын
@@Sealdeam I think the issue for me personally, as someone who views chrono trigger as their favourite game of all time. Cross just felt lackluster all around, there is plenty to love about it and i think it would've done better had it not been a sequal and was a stand alone title. Because for a sequal it does a poor job, 90% of the game you have no idea its even connected to the first game at all then out of nowhere they drop it on you but by that point I was more annoyed I had to wait so long. And even then they massively over complicated the story of the first game with everything they added, and it didn't need that. One of the best things about Chrono trigger to me is that it's story is straight forward and doesn't require a wiki to understand. Even after completing cross the first time I still wasn't sure entirely how the two games were connected. It had a good premise, the whole idea that lavos which was buried in the planet for such a long time pretty much screwed so many other timelines by getting rid of it essentially Crono and gang tried to save the world and they did, but also kind of messed it up in the process was really cool, but they could've executed better I feel. All the stuff with lynx and everything else just felt meh because all trigger fans wanted was the reveal of how the games were connected and what happened after the first game. And it takes so long before you get any of that.

You know what? In all aspects 80 90 2000's music were really something even in musical backgrounds. Modern games nowadays put emphasis on sound of walking, the aaarrrgh of the characters the expression of places. But back in the day it is more emotional. Chrono cross, Final fantasy or suikoden have great backgrounds sounds that you put in your playlist. Its relaxing and fun. Note: i just listened to aerith's theme. It was awesome

One of the original games where you actually had choices that had far far reaching consequences in the game and the timeline in general. Loved this game, played it like 3 times over in my single digit days. Another thing was that it was always different through various progressions cause you had so many allies to choose from that had their own story. Allies that you could recruit or that wouldn't join you cause you already secured the allegiance of someone else.

Much like this song, life is full of adventure and is progressively moving forward as if moving on without regret. My life may be short lived, so I thank you for this magnificent piece that gives me a sense of peace. It reminds me that I need to start living again before it's too late. No regrets. Just move forward. Thank you.

@@omarfaruktusher1942 Cross gameplay wise is completely different. But once you get used to it, it’s actually kind of fun. The story too seems all over the place, but the further you get, the more connections you make. I would be lying if I said Cross is as good as Trigger, but Cross is definitely worth a go!

enjoying a song this much should not be possible the switches between smooth somber tones and drums passing into a soft high hat cabasa combo that works so well in there shared dynamic the way the piano blends with and transitions back and forth from strings this is magical the mix of conga drums or bongos with claves and wood blocks in the background and with the bells mixed with a more distorted and electronic sound giving the impression that you've dove under the water this is a truly a composition that would take far more then a thousand pictures to put into words just wounderfull thank you to all party's involved including Kuta Sensei for putting this together for us to find

Because it's a remix of a more popular version that features as the theme for Chrono Trigger. I think most people were just kinda upset that Chrono cross didn't really have anything to do with trigger even though it was supposed to be a continuation of the series and Chrono cross suffers because of it. Should have just been its own game with its own name and people would probably remember it more fondly.

For a world to matter if it's worth saving, you need peace and serenity. only then can chaos and conflict have meaning. Chrono Cross had such an amazing music direction that despite the short scuffles going on over the entire map, it never felt like the game wasn't worth playing through to the end. With so many games coming out in these coming years, I feel many games forget that. It was a land worth saving. I think I understand the final message of the game just a bit more today than I did back then.

What a great sound track. This game is a musical masterpiece and only brings to light the corners producers like EA and Ubisoft (to name a few) cut to make a quick buck. I refuse to hand over my money to shitty video game studios that don't take time to create original stories, music, character development. I think you should all do the same... a loot box and spending money on early access should not be a requirement for us to get satisfaction. It's so sad and frankly cringy where we are with the general state / industry standard business model with video games. The best action we should be taking as a consumer, is not continue to shovel our money into this stupid furnace of generic year over year mass production of slightly changed video games. Unfortunately, 90% of the companies who are operating on this model are NA which is why I've been recently exploring Japanese companies who seem to actually care about producing quality games.
