Want to know what will rock your world? The sound you are hearing is not the sound that they were making. It didn't actually sound this good. This is similar to a music video where it shows them playing but the sound you are hearing is done in a studio. I'm not trying to say the artists aren't talented. Thus begins my tradition of expressing my disdain as many of you here have maintained. May there be a second angle discovered somewhere at some time.
There is one, lost somewhere in this thread. Unfortunately, it's from the balcony and appeared to be recorded by some archaic recording device. Not the greatest quality, but the bright side is that you can see the slayer of the keys.

My brother gave me a Chrono Trigger SNES Cartridge for my 40th birthday, I have the digital copy so I never bothered unpacking it, it sits at the best spot of my shelf side by side with my Tolkien collection, as a reminder of the best fantasy worlds I have ever been to.
10 years later and it's baffling that a performance like this was filmed by such an amateur cameraman, who thought the keyboard solo was the guitarist's. Still, it's bone-chilling and eye-wetting. I absolutely love this performance.

EDIT: Here I am years later realizing that the camera person was just doing their best. Everybody makes mistakes. Whoever you are out there, camera person, I still love you. I'm the master of the unpopular opinion. I'd rather have a rendition where it's more focused on piano, percussion, strings, brass and woodwinds. The musicians are talented, but having a near electric guitar death metal version of the theme isn't really my thing. About two thirds the way in, it seemed more like they were trying to just play guitar and strayed away from the theme, in my opinion.

This piece was ABSOLUTE PERFECTION. This was my first taste of the Boston Video Game Orchestra and I loved all the highlight musicians especially the kong drum chick (I think that’s what she’s playing) and the violinist. The footage matches up with her doing the exacted same movements with her page turning and even the bass guitarist is the the exact same movements in line to the song in both videos. I come here every year and almost cry a few times, it hit so much hard in nostalgia, but this orchestra version is so supreme, it's blow my mind they doing snes music from this masterpiece and turned it into Magnus opus, I don't understand how no 444 million views here, this is the best thing VGO Live with probably Snake Eater did, but it's much harder and grander to do without words and I always smile when I see the guitarist smile at the beginning....If its not 1 of the greatest video game piece of music and general overall music at all that's i don't know what it is.
