I’ve been running into this issue for couple months I changed my battery and starter. Turns out the issue all along was it needed a new battery with higher cranking amps. The battery is a 24F-DL with 750 cranking amps solves the issue.

I have to share what I found out for my chrysler 200 2015 . I had the same issue wouldn't start after a while on the dash said engine warming. Hear a click when u press the start button but no ignition turn over Knew it wasn't the battery because I had it replaced recently so deducted it was probably a starter solenoid issue. A temporary fix for me to start my car was to quite literally go behind the car to where my trunk is and push the car, really rocking it back and forth to make the starter solenoid work(?) and my car would start just fine. I know it sounds stupid but if anyone is experiencing this problem and is desperate before calling a tow truck try rocking the car back and forth pretty vigorously before starting the car

I found on mine it was a bad ground wire. Run a jumper cable from the negative terminal on the battery to the transmission and see if it starts. If it does just run a new ground wire. Problem solved.

My 2015 had new battery and starter 2 months ago. Now it’s been doing the engine warming thing. Took to dealership and they replaced body control module. Picked it up, parked it, went to leave, same damn thing! They came with a loaner and took car back in within 15 minutes. Now I wait.

I took my car to Chrysler, and was told that my battery was “severe discharged”. They charged the battery and now it’s working. Only problem I have with that is, my battery wasn’t dead before I sent it to the dealership. I wonder if the car requires a particular battery 😬🤔

@@dee1062 You should of changed your battery before the problem. Don’t just wait until the battery is bad. This car has lots of electrical components and a unhealthy battery can cause all sorts of mayhem on these electrical components. Just getting a new battery won’t do nothing once the damage is done on electrical engineering.

@@vincentbolduc2147 We started turning off the button with the A and a circle on it (that makes it restart at lights but if you cut it off it doesn’t do that) it still wants to seem weak at slow downs but it might quit leaving you stuck in the road.

It may be that the battery is too weak start the car but if lights, radio and AC work then it may be the alternator or starter. But get a hammer if you can and bang the alternator lightly about 3 times then try to start it up again and this time, when you start it keep your finger on the push start for about a few seconds until you hear it come back on.

I had a bad ground wire. To test just run a jumper cable from the negative terminal to the he transmission or starter. If it starts problem solved. Just run a new ground wire.

Unfortunately no. It's been an issue since February. The things the dealership has told me was the problem(Battery, starter, ignition, PCM) was not. The 1st time, I got an Active Grille Shutter, but I got the kind for a Chrysler S, and C. My car is being fixed right now for this issue because it's check engine related because I have to pass emissions, and the code is reading the Active Grille Shutter performance. I got a new Grille Shutter for the Chrysler Limited the 2nd time around, and now the dealership is checking to see if it's the Active Grille Shutter wire harness that's causing the issue. They still don't know yet. Hopefully I'll find out Monday. If it's fixed and figured out Monday, you will be the first to know.

I believe the problem has been solved. The active grille shutter needs to be replaced. Make sure you get the right one for your sub model (ex. Limited, C,S) or IT WILL NOT WORK. Also, get the Grille Shutter harness for it. ONCE FIXED, HAVE THEM REPROGRAM THE SHUTTER TO YOUR CAR...OR IT WILL NOT WORK.

@@assuntajohnson7553 yes. But you must get its original part, no after Market product(ex www.rockauto.com, and www.partsgeek.com). You must get it from the dealership, doesnt mean they have to put it in for you though. Once it is in, MAKE SURE they calibrate it to your car. Ince that is done, the car's computer may not notice it right away. You will have to drive it for a few days (long , short distances, stops and start-ups a few times). Once done, it'll do just fine,

From Newfoundland, Canada been having problems with the car since day one and I've been the only owner of this car I've noticed the shift knob and the on/off switch has been staying lit up. I've replaced the battery and several other components. Still no explanation for the waiting for engine warming message that's displayed.

I really am sorry to hear this. Almost 2 years later im still going through it. Go directly to the dealership to get this matter resloved if they're able to. In my experience, the dealership gave me the runaround on this issue in which they thought such and such was the problem and it wasn't (battery, starter, ignition to name a few). I still believe its an electrical shortage somewhere. Being that it just started with you for the first time. GET IT LOOKED AT NOW because if not, you may end up waiting for it to start for sometime (1/2 hour, 1, 2, 3, or 8 hours in my case... that's not an overstatement).

I'm very sorry you have to experience this. When I had the car, when it got warm, it only got worse. I had taken mines to the Chrysler dealership, and they suspected it was the power train control module. Well I got it fixed, only to realize it was doing the same thing. I had got everything from the alternator, battery, and starter and ignition replaced and it still did the same thing. Your best bet is to get rid of the car because it will only get worse, but good luck with everything

This car i junk i have exactly the same issue. I changed starter alternator thermostat with the coolant sensor new battery. Same.... althout im thinking about ecu conector i will try cleaning it out and puting it back again. Dealer charged me 389 for cleaning the ground conector and diagnosis they said it might be a bcm(body control module....) another expensive car. Dont buy this junk. Go with toyota. My wife been driving them forever. Brake pads oil tires and gas thats about it

#karissa mattress. The only thing I would encourage you to do is not to keep your car running for extreme long periods of time. If it does happen, keep trying to turn it back on. Once it does turn on, cut it on and off a few times. That helps me at least
