Heeelp i have a toyota highlander 2002 limited with jbl audio but i bought without a car stereo. I bought an aftermarket radio and im trying too hardwire to highlander but i cant find the color diagram for the life of me. Im desperate i tried finding the cables with a multimeter and i cant find the accessory cable well i dont know what to do.

Once out, pop top off, looking down from front you will see a chip on the right not covered with film like the rest of the board. Apply some heat (eg. Heat gun) while pressing down on chip with something (reflow). Reassemble.

lol there is a chip in the circuit board that just needs to be re soldiered or slightly heated to adhere. Found it in another KZbin page. Also after repair it might loosen again because of vibration/movement of the vehicle and I think it might have something to do with heat/cold that runs close to the radio…so I recommend repair and epoxy but get the repair right first before you epoxy…

I didn't quite get the "item reset" logic. Disconnecting the radio from the connectors would not do anything in regard to resetting the unit than would disconnecting the vehicle battery for a time period. A true "item reset" would involve a factory reset process on the radio itself. usually by power-up button holds or some other kind of programming. In this case you had to take the radio out anyway so you needed to take it out. But for a "try this first" reset the radio type operation there should be no reason to take the radio out. There should be nothing hooked to it causing it to "not reset" or not allowing it to reset other than the main vehicle battery.

Just by removing the radio fuse will save all that hassle of removing and disconnecting the harness.

Disassembling it yourself saves you 3/4 of the cost. Don't pay a dealer $150 an hour to do what you can do yourself.💙

Sorry but what was the purpose of this video? 6 minutes, removed lots of stuff just to unplug and plug it back? Why? Remove the radio fuse and wait for 10 mins then if you think it’s gonna work.

Technician service Bullitin. Vehicle Manufactures put out Recall lists for recalled items. Then also put out T.S.B., for issues that don't quite meet a full recall, but a common issue across many cars, and they manfsctuer finds a fix for it and puts out a TSB. (they may also be just how the manfacture says of how to fix everything on a specific vehicle, not sure, but I know it's at least what I wrote above). Sorry if I'm not explaining it clear enough.

My quick was to rip it out and put a Atoto F7 WE in No more radio problems Android / Apple Car play Bluetooth Wireless connect Data cable for watching KZbin 169 bucks on Amazon Problem solved.

Lol. This is a 10 min fix. Remove radio and open it up to access board. There is 1 chip that needs to be re soldered with a heat gun for a few seconds. Radio fixed

Whenever someone mentions having to take the dash off it just makes me laugh because of what you have to do with my car. The first step for taking the dashboard off of a (newish) Ford Escape is... make your guesses now... that's right, take the two front doors off. I shit you not. There are two long rods that meet in the middle behind the dash that holds the dash together somehow?. And the only way to get them out is to take the doors off.

Props for getting in there and trying something 1st before you take it in to dealer. In the 42 yrs I've been alive and working on cars(as well as driving), I have only brought my personal vehicle to ANY REPAIR shop, yet alone never a dealer, a total of TWO times EVER. I've been a licensed mechanic for 14 yrs so I've seen a lot, but never have u saw it all, until now. No disrespect, but WHO POSTS A AUTO REPAIR VIDEO THAT DOESN'T FIX THE PROBLEM OR RATHER, HAS NO IDEA HOW TO DIAGNOSIS AN ISSUE PROBABLY? Seriously, no disrespect but why did u even post this video? You sound and look like you have no clue on how to diagnose an issue or even trouble shoot the symptoms. In not going to get into the RIGHT WAY to trouble shoot an issue like this but a word of wisdom, when removing the power source to a electronic device to some what reset it, you shouldn't have your personal settings still saved and working (such as preset station) when you power back up. If so, you did NOT reset ANYTHING. JUST SAYIN. Good luck there lady. Oh but hey, look into a problem with the AM/FM chip on the circuit board as an possibly. Many have had loose or broken solder connection that need to be reflowed to restore AM/FM sound. Hint hint

Quick fix? Typical Chrysler POS Penta Salvage engine is almost as good as the electrical system in the garbage they make.
