Chu Ko 朱客 - actor - action director - director
Born in Taiwan in 1953, Chu Ko 朱客, widely known as Zhu Kerong 朱克榮, studied Beijing Opera 京劇 during his childhood at the Da Peng Opera Experimental School 大鵬劇藝實驗學校, alongside other movie legends such as Jack Long 龍世家 and others. Specialized in martial roles, including Clown or Chou 醜, he worked as a performer of the Beijing Opera troupe of the Taiwan military for many years, achieving a well-known opera actor status.
Chu Ko did stunt work for Shaw Brothers as early as 1975 in the movie Marco Polo 馬哥波羅, filmed in Taiwan, and was later officially hired by the Shaw Brothers Film Company in 1979, settling in Hong Kong in 1980 to work as an actor in martial arts action films, and also work as a martial arts instructor for movies and television shows.
As an actor, Chu Ko is most famous for his supporting actor roles in many Venom-related films, but also in mainland China productions. Then in 1984, he returned to Taiwan, where he got involved with the direction of television as well as large-scale stage performances of Taiwanese Opera 歌仔戲 for many years.
