CHUB FISHING in Coloured water - Nov 2022

Join me on a cold stormy windy afternoon on a local River targeting the resident Chub, using Cheesepaste & bread flake on a link ledger set-up I was hoping to out wit the Chub which I'm sure would of been hungry after recent flood conditions....
It was tough fishing & the wind made it hard to see any delicate bites on the tip but I was rewarded for my efforts with 2 nice fish...
I apologise for the poor sound in a few clips due to the wind.

Nice little session pal. Pete’s good old cheese paste mix. Diamond winter bait. I never forget the first time i tried it and i got a chevin on the drop. Good to see how silvery they are in winter rather than the deep, golden, brassy colours of summer. Glad you bagged a couple pal 🐟🎣

Hi Neil, glad your liking the vids mate... yeah I fish the weir area a bit , walked past it tonight & it looked lovely for trotting, it's better in Summertime but I had a few Chub in Winter from there too... the first Bush on the left downstream is a great Chub holding spot, I had one out last week on feeder bread flake.... best to keep moving around the deep hole peg is fishing good at the moment too especially at Dusk n into darkness... get down n have a go pal, sure you'll find a few Chub.... a lad had a nice Barbel last week from here too 😉👍🎣

@Yorkshire River Rover thanks 👍 I fished what I think is the deep hole peg today but no luck. Is it about halfway between weir and footbridge? Just before a big dead tree branch log on the ground? About 6ft?

@@neilsedgewick3813 yeah that's the place, with the water so clear at the moment I think there a bit spooky in open water in the daylight .. I had a 3lber last week from there in the Dark only cast out 2 mins... its good below the footbridge in Winter, deeper water there n a slower pace too, good big over hanging in trees to fish close too.. pre baiting is a good idea too pal, bait a few swim an hour or so before fishing them 👍🎣

A couple of decent chub, mission accomplished. The bent back is not something I've seen in chub. I've seen barbel like that and plenty of pictures of barbel barbel like that.
