Follow the iconic dance craze that was "The Twist,” made famous by Chubby Checker from the sixties through today. “The Twist” first went to #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 Singles Chart in September of 1960. Whats great about the twist is that its a pretty straightforward and easy dance to pull off. Meaning everyone on the dance floor can pick it up in minutes and even put their own little spin on it if desired. Fun song and dance which is now pretty much iconic. The scene in Madmen with Peggy twisting toward Pete was televised perfection.

My grandmother played this for me while I was 6 she had it on a cassette tape it's something I'll always remember, I'm 18 now and I still love this song my grandmother passed away in 2017 overnight in a hospital after being airlifted it broke my heart so much knowing that I'll never be able to dance with her to this song again... Saw Chubby in 2015 or so in Springfield, Oregon. When the Beach Boys cancelled their stop at our July 4th celebration, Chubby covered for them. Signs around said 'no photography' during the performance, so when security started blocking people's phone cameras, Chubby stopped the music and said "if people want to take some photos, we're gonna let em!" and continued to twist and rock. Never will forget that. Thanks, Chubby for showing us young kids how to Twist!
