Latok is special food from Sabah which mostly eaten by Bajau and Suluk race. Its especially nice to eat with some lime (to mitigate the sea scent) and with Putu/Piutu (some sort of cassava type of food that eaten with Latok) I hope u can come to Borneo soon while taste our local food and shout your "sedap!" tagline lol.

Hatinie is based on Kelantan food. The coconut gravy is called "percik" and it is one of the best food from Kelantan. Maybe one day you should visit Kelantan to taste their original food with 3x more cheaper price than KL.

I’m a regular there, and I do get confused every now and then when it comes to choosing what to eat. Some tips for you 1) They do have an array of sambal near the ulam section , they’re meant to be dipped with any protein or ulam that you choose. 2) The beef satay is almost always sold out on a daily basis. Some customers would go there just to have some satay. 3) Hatinie also has a variety of kuih , snacks and even “bubur manis” if you don’t feel like eating nasi campur. 4) The aunty who sits at the entrance will always be there and asks for money. If you’re feeling generous, obviously you can give her some money . However, no one would criticize you if you just ignore her. I guess even the workers there don’t have the heart to chase her out.

Chu, u can take the other plate if too full. Ulam can eat with sambal like sambal belacan, budu, cencalok, or others. Ikan bakar also usually got sauce like sos kicap bwang and air asam. The taste will be nicer and sangat sedap..

@@chubro yes.. u should separate all the dishes. Its look messy if put all the dishes in 1 plate with nasi putih.. ulam can put in anothe plate together with sambal belacan. Ikan bakar can put in one plate together with the sauces. Usually shop can provide small plate to put dishes so u can enjoy eating.

Wahhh coconut ayam (ayam percik) is so nice Chu. My mother used to make this for wedding, where the bride and groom will have their royal feast during wedding ceremony. Oh I miss ayam percik! How to eat Latok(seagrapes) Mix it or dip in with the sauce. You can dip both sauce and then eat it.. This Latok originated from Sabah, one of the East Malaysian famous dish. You can call it Sea-Vegetables as a direct calling.

my kind of style if i go into place like this, when too many choices... pick 2 kind of protein..normally i pick 1 seafood + beef or ayam or kambing. 2 veggie , dry and wet.. kuah campur, mix 2 types of other gravy and pour onto the rice ( this gravy must not the same from the 2 protein chose earlier ).. ulam and variety of sambal ( on different plate ) hope this will help you in future.

Wow I cannot believe it... Not for how much you ate or how many varieties you chose or how much you put on a single plate... But i cannot believe you went to that restaurant in Shah Alam which is one of my favorite local restaurants! BTW, that "coconut gravy" is called kuah percik, that's for the ayam percik. It's very special, the rich coconut milk gives the dish a very creamy, sweet taste with the hotness of chilli. Percik dish can either be chicken or fish, usually ikan kembung Ikan pari is usually grilled (Malays love to wrap it with that leaf) which is then matched to either assam sauce (hot + sour) or soy sauce (kicap +chilli). Pari is also cooked as assam pedas dish, especially in melaka, I'm sure you'd loooove pari assam pedas!

this restaurant hatini sec 10 shah alam right i used to live around here. that chicken is called 'ayam percik', grilled chicken with coconut sauce. there is also dessert section with bubur kacang, pengat and kuih muih etc. so many varieties to choose i also have headache whenever come here 🤣 there is another similar restaurant on the same building on the other side, azira, but their dishes are indonesian based dishes.
