Just mind blowing,now just imagine porting mario 64 to a 32bit system by using the doom engine,would be cool to see it happen.

I can not find the HUD anywhere. What HUD is that?
@Chubzdoomer4 жыл бұрын
When you play with ZDoom/GZDoom, just press the + key to increase the size of the HUD. The - key does the exact opposite.

@@Chubzdoomer Oh, no wonder I couldn't find it, I thought it was a mod.

I wonder how the AutoMap will show these 3D one above other??
@Chubzdoomer8 жыл бұрын
The automap just shows them as regular sectors. There's no 3D view or anything.
@Gato303co8 жыл бұрын
Chubzdoomer So, the sectors overlap each other like in the Duke Nukem AutoMap ?
@Chubzdoomer8 жыл бұрын
Gato303co Yeah, sadly there's no way to separate them based on height.

Chubzdoomer I see, thanks for answering :-)

@Conker10382 Keep in mind that you can stack more than one 3D floor in the same sector. Let's say you create a square sector and give it a tag of 1. You can make one dummy sector that calls for a 3D floor 10 feet off the ground. You can then make a second dummy sector that creates a 3D floor 20 feet off the ground. If you tie them all to sector 1, sector 1 will now technically contain 3 levels: The default one, the one 10 feet off the ground, and the one 20 feet off the ground! :-)

@gasenkotsu I don't use Skulltag, but as far as I know it does support 3D floors.

Oh my God, I always wanted room-over-room in Doom! Does (will?) Skulltag support 3D floors? Can't wait for a tutorial!
@Chubzdoomer13 жыл бұрын
@PSXDooMERR Yes, OPL Synth is just about the closest you can get to the way Doom music originally sounded back when it was played through DOS with older soundcards. :-)
@Chubzdoomer13 жыл бұрын
@HeavyMetalHearted Yep, it's all done within the map editor. You won't see the 3D floors in Visual/3D mode, though, so you'll have to actually compile and play the map in order for your work to be seen in-game. That's the one downside, but once you figure out how they work it's not so difficult to implement.
@deadstones113 жыл бұрын
are you going to be posting a tutorial on how to make 3d floors?
@firebad013 жыл бұрын
@gasenkotsu yes skulltag does support 3d floors, slopes, the whole 9 yards, including advanced opengl, hires textures, advanced models, vertical sync, smooth particles, smoothed sprites, and much more.
@Chubzdoomer13 жыл бұрын
@jdjlpf I'm assuming it will be, but I'm not entirely sure how the process works.

so is this a hack or exploit? I've never gotten into doom moddin but they always made a big deal about how this was impossible
@Chubzdoomer2 жыл бұрын
It's just a special feature of the ZDoom family of source ports.

omg! this might make me go back to making maps. it got pretty stale for me as, as i couldnt seem to come up with new ideas that would motivate me to keep doing it, but now that i found out about this, ill most likely get back in to it =)

What is this? Just basically a bunch of 3-D bridges stacked up on top of one another?
@Conker1038213 жыл бұрын
How how how? Lol can't wait for these tutorials...and @Lishy1 could you post a link or let us know where one may be able to find this GZdoom plugin of which you speak? Pretty please? Lol

Hold up. You are saying that software-based ZDoom now suppourts 3D Floors? Woah, thats new. I guess that means our ZDoom-only bros can enjoy what we GZDoom/Skulltag/etc players have been doing for years.
@Chubzdoomer13 жыл бұрын
@deadstones1 Yep! I even stuck a little message about it at the end of the video. Hopefully I'll get the tutorials finished in the next few weeks.

What can I use to make these 3D floors? Like Doom Builder or something?
@HeXaGoN6213 жыл бұрын
Wait isn't this the thing I requested way earlier? I do use ALOT of 3D floors in my maps, but I use GZDoom way more than ZDoom

I've kinda taught myself how to do this on GZDoom but only using it to make a small passageway underground- using transfer heights and bridge pieces -but the third floor has me...well, floored...pun intended.
@Chubzdoomer13 жыл бұрын
@KillaCamCorte No, not at all. In fact, it's 10x easier than creating a 3D bridge. With this method, never again will you even have to create a fake 3D bridge, unless you want to do so for looks. All you're doing is creating a sector in the shape of the 3D floor you want (just like you create any other sector), then using a dummy sector to determine the thickness and height (from the ground) of the 3D floor.

@jr2nd yeah but remember, when doom was finished, it wasn't even 2000. They probably didn't have that technology, as well Doom's engine limits. On Topic: More epicness!
