I always struggle with videos like this... I see it and think... Yeah!! I have to do this.... Than I add up the research time, modelling, buying of special cutting tools like slotting mills, tool pathing, cutting raw stock, machining, tool probing, machine vise and toolholding setups, Gcode modifications, testing, finishing, assembling, etc. and then realize I'll probably just buy one. Still, for an heirloom item, it's amazing, but my kids would most likely never understand what went into it, and just toss it in the bin, or sell it when I die. lol... Uplifting view, huh?

I can get the idea of measuring the height of the metal artwork by making an electrical contact between the milling head and the metal artwork (as a switch to feed into CNC software to store the position of the Z axis once reading electrical contact and to translate it into height).. My question please.. How you do that within the CNC software ?
