D.L. Smith oh I don’t do I? Just because they’re of color is why you want to give credit to them. Blacks and whites and browns and everyone created what was becoming rock and roll. Popularizing does not mean creating. Though to his credit Chuck Berry had his own style. It’s what set him apart. You don’t know what you are talking about. Ike Turner even came before Chuck Berry. Jerry Lee Lewis. So many others. Learn fool.

Just two men are survivors of early Rock N' Roll --Jerry Lee Lewis and Lloyd Price. Fats Domino did an early rock song in 1951 --"The Fat Man." Domino charted in July/August of 1955. Little Richard charted with T.F in October of 1955. Chuck Berry charted a month before with "Maybellene." Elvis released "That's All Right" in July of 1954. He also made the charts October of the same year with Good Rockin' Tonight." But the Founder of Rock N' Roll was Sister Rosetta Tharpe as far back as the 1930s. Elvis eagerly listened to her on the radio. When Chuck Berry played his guitar you know he got it from her. So many were influenced by her.

Little Richard and Chuck Berry performed onstage together at the "The 16th Annual Grammy Awards", decades ago, on March 2, 1974. That performance is here on KZbin. The microphone faded some during that performance, but the technical problem showed the compatibility of the two artists. LR and CB presented the Grammy to Stevie Wonder. I would guess they have been onstage together many times. Look for: 16th Grammy R&B Male Chuck Berry & Little Richard
