Me and my wife wondered this. Season 5 of Michael and Lucifer fought it was supposed to end the world. Then they fight in later seasons and nothing happened. So many plot holes and things that didn’t make sense in later episodes.

Nah it made sense. The battle at season 5 was supposed to be the scripted endgame, Lucy and Mike were meant to be at full power with their respective vessels so it made sense for the world to end up destroyed. In every other fight they have after season 5, there were external factors that prevented them from going all out. Here, they're on weaker vessels and Jack's absorbing all the energy they're unleashing.

So Lucifer ends Death (a new one will appear of course), Micheal ends Lucifer (back the depths buddy with your daddy issues), Chuck (God) ends Micheal, and then Jack absorbs all the energy in the fights, and replaces God leaving Chuck as merely mortal Chuck to die of old age. Who knew heaven and hell were even more screwed up that Earth.

Wait, isnt the first angel or the first reaper after death is killed becomes the new death, i thought that was the lore they made. If its a reaper, arent they technically angels, so wouldnt that make Lucifer now the new Death, that would of been a good change. Also side note, if they do redo the show, I would like it to start off with Chuck (as God) who we think is powerless, is pretending, as this was another one of his stories, playing the villian and loosing, and then starts off with a huge redo. Have chuck, michael, lucifer, gabriel, rafael, death (OG death) back there, starting fresh. With God clicking his fingers and bang, back to how it originally was. Sam, Dean, Mum, Dad hunting the monster of the week, like in the old days.

The showdown of lucifer vs michael was supposed to scorch half the planet. In the other world, the war was still going on and tore almost the entire planet apart. And in this fight here, michael throws some energy that does 0 damage to a brick wall. Lucifer throws some energy that throws michael back. And then Michael stabs Lucifer to death. So anyone can be a writer i guess.

Here's an ice cold take. If the show had stopped at the end of season 2, it would be a legendary cult classic. If they rewrote the ending of season 5 and stopped there, it would have felt like a coherent story. 15 seasons..... I guess I'm glad all the people involved had steady work but the only notable thing about the show is "when did you stop watching Supernatural" is a pretty good ice breaker.

I think the first five seasons were good to great with some obvious missteps, most notably the creation (and inclusion in the finale) of Sam and Dean's half brother, Adam. The final vessel for Michael should have been the resurrected young John Winchester, played brilliantly by Matt Cohen in the time travel episode. Later seasons were hit and miss but still mostly good for a few years, but the show really jumped the shark hard and eventually devolved into utter trash.

I think Season 5's ending made sense Lucifer and Michael got trapped forever, Dean retired with a family, Castiel was brought back by God(Chuck) and Sam(and presumely Adam) was also out of the cage in the end indicating that God must have done the same he did with Castiel, overall a satisfying ending I do agree a ressurrected John Winchester makes a better final vessel for Michael than Adam though and that way John would be back as well

This always seemed rushed or thrown together. How can Lucifer kill death with a snap. Also, if only death can read it, and you would want to change it you would hear how to prevent the thing you're avoiding. Also, Michael wouldn't suddenly go back and warn Chuck after he pick Lucifer again. I hated the idea of God bad anyways. But they wanted to have the ultimate power for the plot to seem hard.

I think the execution was rushed but when you think of the fact that the show has always been about free will vs destiny/fate it makes thematic sense for the ultimate bad guy to be the guy who wrote those original horrible endings for them. From what I understand the rush job was due to Covid, though according to Eric Kripke the true ending he had planned would’ve been MUCH more bleak and way less ‘happy ending’ for everyone. Who knows, here’s to hoping they get together again for a directors cut style alternate ending.

Yeah but they retconned OGdeath to just being an officeholder rather than a cosmic being on par with even an archangel, let alone God or Amara. Remember in season 5 Lucifer could enslave OG death? Hell, even same and dean were able to do it as humans. And each universe has it's own death as alt universe Michael claims he imprisoned his worlds death too. I wish they had kept the idea of death being on par with God, but it's just not canon.

Honestly rather easy to fix this that it feels bad Have Chuck be the one to kill the new Death after Death tries to stop him from ending the natural order, with him aknowledging that had it been the Old Death he could've been in trouble, then Michael and Lucifer face him together after finally forgiving each other and either have them lose to get the same ending with Jack or have them win by teaming up like the Darkness was beaten with Dean & Sam as vessels as the final "free will" twist as the angels stand up to their father and the boys overcome fate Perhaps with the last blow being done with Death's scythe so what Death told Dean all the way back about reaping God coming to fruition

@@Bleg94 Death was never God's equal. He only said "As old as God, maybe older... It's been so long, none of us remember anymore. Regardless, in the end, I'll reap him, too!" He never says he would kill God. The reason he "thinks" he would reap him in the end is probably due to Death's Library having a book for God. Maybe Amara kills him, maybe he becomes human and dies of old age like he did at the end of the show, any incarnation of Death would reap him in that case, which is true. Otherwise that statement never implies Death being a God level being. Remember even Billie, when she was a reaper, said she would reap God in an hour or so when Amara injured Chuck. In fact, the fact Death not remembering who is older and alternate universes having different versions of Death imply that he is clearly a lesser being compared to God, Amara and The Empty. I would think of him as around Micheal/Lucifer level, maybe slightly higher, maybe slightly lower. Lucifer finger snapping Death could be due to him being empowered by Jack's grace before the first time he dies.

For a show that ran for 15 season they really rushed the ending with sooo many unresolved storylines and characters. Could have taken atleast 5 or 10 minutes of the finale to show all the characters close to the Winchesters tha died without resolution. For example we last saw Jo as a ghost, no single mention of her afterwards of she was finally happy in the afterlife. Or Charlie. Or Becky and her family who were snapped by Chuck. So many unresolved characters

Misha said the last episode was supposed to take place in Deans “heaven”, which was a roadside bar and all the characters in they loved and who had died, were supposed to be in the final scene. Because of Covid and the strict Canadian requirements of only ten people on set at a time, they couldn’t do it. Hence the ending with Dean and Sam on the bridge.

Physically showing god was the biggest mistake the writers ever did, in a setting like supernatural he has no place other than in stories and legends and besides that god should have won this without even a chance of him not winning because he is damn god. Imo the best approach to an ultimate villain after season 5 would have been a very slow return of amara acting weakened out of her prison using things like the leviathans not as gods but as amaras creations as soon as they were free to give amara the means to act on anything at all with her creations being free, their unlimited need to feed and consume gods creations was always a nice parallel to amara destroying gods creations on a greater scale. This would have given the leviathans some sort of deepness and actual goal that isn't only fueled by an empty stomach, eve could have easly been presented as the leviathans leader and amaras answer to gods archangels, the empty could still be that third party entity but with the goal to end amaras plans to make sure it's domain can't be filled with more castiels that keep it awake giving it reason to work with sam and dean and with it ACTUALLY having a realistic chance to beat amara before she fully frees herself from her cage with the final battle being between the winchesters and crew vs eve which is a 100 times more doable than coming up with that trainwreck of a final season to kill the man who made everything and being free and at full power. Michael? make him have a talk with lucifer after being caged with him, about the mark, about how god manipulated both of them, about everything. make him hate god and try to do the right thing by searching for god and contronting him to fix all the bad he has caused as a creator, this could give michael the heroes death and redeem him as that beacon of light, rightous leader of heaven, protector of humanity and so on before god smites him that would make for a tragic death that people can mourn, a similar thing could have been done with lucifer through jack so lucifer can learn to live among and accept humans as victims of gods plan just as he himself is a victim of exactly that. Rowena and Crowley? Scrap it, crowley was fun and brought the dark humor supernatural needed besides it's serious moments, they should have left it at that and let him go as the funny ahole we all loved before he became that pathetic something he turned into before he did his out of character sacrifice. Cain and the mark? Overall good idea, nothing much to change about it other than that stupid moment dean trolled death and killed him which is still dumb and shouldn't even be possible just because dean swung the scythe in a way that looked like he was gonna get sam, cosmic being my butt. This is all a personal opinion.

Plot armor. He will flick the insignificant human bugs around and taunt them and torture them and monolog because they're the main characters, and then some plan will come through or some unexpected somebody will show up with somehow a God killing knife and stab him in the back. Great show despite that for 5 seasons, then progressively worse and more stupid with each successive season and this was like, 14.

​@@Michael-y4f8f This is only a problem with Evil Chuck. Before that, it wasn't plot armor but simply the nature of mythological creatures. Folklore is filled with these creatures being duped by humans. They don't have the sense enough to be "utterly ruthless". Even in the case of irl demonic possession, whether you believe it or not, exorcists never report demons as "smart". Cunning and tricky and always trying to get you to abandon the Truth, sure, but not smart, and certainly not wise.

I admit once God became the villain i lost interest. After all if the bad guy is god and the show has made clear aside from his sister and death no one is even on the same level how could the boys possibly win aside from bullshit plot armor. With that being said how did lucifer kill death? When death was introduced they made it clear that he would reap god in the end, and the only reason he was tied to lucifer's prison was because of god. Sure the boys briefly shackled him, but again they were using direct divine interference and castiel who was channeling god level power what with all the purgatory souls immediately broke it. Also why is death a chick now anyway?

Death was never God's equal. He only said "As old as God, maybe older... It's been so long, none of us remember anymore. Regardless, in the end, I'll reap him, too!" He never says he would kill God. He even says "What makes you think I can do that?" when Dean & Bobby ask him to kill God (they were referring to Castiel empowered by the sould from Purgatory). The reason he "thinks" he would reap him in the end is probably due to Death's Library having a book for God, which writes itself. Maybe Amara kills him, maybe he becomes human and dies of old age like he did at the end of the show, any incarnation of Death would reap him in that case, which is true. Otherwise that statement never implies Death being a God level being. Remember even Billie, when she was a reaper, said she would reap God in an hour or so when Amara injured Chuck. In fact, the fact that Death not remembering who is older and alternate universes having different versions of Death imply that he is clearly a lesser being compared to God, Amara and The Empty. I would think of his power level around Micheal/Lucifer level, maybe slightly higher, maybe slightly lower. Lucifer finger snapping Death could be due to him being empowered by Jack's grace before the first time he dies.

They had the supernatural team take a political stance and support Kamala. Changed my view of Jensen. Luckily Jarrod wasn't there. Caught me off guard. the dialogue was so bad.... supernatural lost it's touch a loooooong time ago.. i think seasons 1-5 were just the all-time best... sure their was good episodes in the other seasons but a single episode can't carry a whole season unfortunatly
