Every year I looked forward to this - back in the WCVB days with Chet & Nat, Dickie, Bob Copeland, and Don Gillis. Those were the days!

Even this '90s kid right here looked forward to Chuck's annual Christmas recitation! I was sooo disappointed when he no longer came on to do this. I think the last one he did made mention to the Furby doll, so that tells you how long it's been!

Michael Cultrera I always saw Chuck as brilliant. His reports were always great but this is classic. Thanks so much for watching! Hope you will check out my Channel..... lots of memories! Best to you!

Chuck was a brilliant reporter when I was growing up, but when I caught some of his old clips from the '70s, I was in stitches. He lives in my hometown of Arlington, so it was always a treat when he did segments at his home. Local TV needs to return to this kind of substance. P.S., I've already subscribed!

How did he keep a straight face while delivering these lines? Smart comedy is timeless.

As this video shows, there was a time when Boston was a unique place with its very own wonderful quirks and oddities. That's gone now. Its over built and over priced and seemingly trying to be a mini-Manhattan. in the words of Mrs. Doubtfire "so sad when that happens!!"
