I stumbled apon Chuck Prophet around 17 years ago at a small venue in a small town in NE Idaho, or Washington, not sure. I was just searching out a motel as my job as a traveling portrait photographer 📸. It was a small stage in the middle of town in a grassy park. I got to meet him afterwards and buy a couple of cds, which he happily signed. I was impressed then and still appreciate now. I gotta say, he's had and is on quite a journey!

The two best gigs I've ever been to in my sweet short life: Green on Red in 1989 and Chuck Prophet & Mission Express in 2023. He's been at it for a while! This set is fantastic too. Thanks for posting,

Been a fan since Green on Red. One of the great American singer/songwriters for sure.

The absolute best. I've seen Chuck in a solo show, and with a band, but I have yet to see just the two of them. Thanks for taking me there.

These two are a wonderful collaboration over many years. I found myself in the right place in the late 1980s to hear them perform in Austin. Have appreciated their talent over the years.

I could listen to Chuck and Stephie perform together all day long whether they're doing a coolio acoustic session like this or playing in the full band setup (Chuck Prophet & The Mission Express). Its Americana music at it glorious best to my ears. From his first solo album, 'Brother Aldo' through to his most recent album at the time of writing this comment, 'The Land That Time Forgot'... Its a total mash up of high quality music across the board. From some Rolling Stones inspired riffs and grooves through to a load of songwrting hat tipping to the likes of Bob Dylan, Iggy Pop, Lou Reed, Richard & Linda Thomspon, Tom Petty, The Clash, John Prine etc.... Chuck consistently delivers first class original songs, not to mention his guitar playing talent. Chuck may be a bit more refrained and laid back on his Telecaster these days but he's a total whizz of his fretboard when he chooses to be. He's also a first class vocalist in my opinion as well, distinctive and emotive through and through.....
