Ranking Godzilla's Versions From Weakest To Strongest (Part 1)

I GREATLY apologize for taking so long to upload this. I've just been on a long hiatus and life gets in the way. I am hoping to change this around and bring you guys more stuff. I hope you will all enjoy! Watch PART 2 HERE!! kzbin.info/www/bejne/qojJXmWsqpWSbZY I also want to clear up some stuff here: UPDATE 10/8/2020: After looking through more Showa-era guidebooks, my ranking for Showa Godzilla has changed since by the end of the Zone Fighter TV series he was already stronger than the country-continental level Ghidorahs and then trained for several decades after that by Destroy All Monsters, so it's higher than GMK, 2000, and Kiryu saga Godzilla. He's quite comparable to Monsterverse Godzilla, but I'd say he's still below IDW Godzilla due to its crazy combat boosts and resistance. 1. Regarding the pronunciations. I'm not going to give myself excuses here, but I speak, read, and practice 3 languages, so that makes it more difficult for me to distinguish certain pronunciations. Regardless, I watched NUMEROUS videos and different dubs for my research and I realized that the Kaiju's names can be pronounced in MANY different ways, even within the same language. If that's the only thing you're so fixated on, you clearly have nothing better to comment. I'll make sure to pronounce everything to the best of my ability in future videos. 2. Stop saying that I downplayed Shin Godzilla. Sure, he could have evolved into something more powerful, but the keyword here is "could have". I'm not going into speculative or headcanon territory. Matter of the fact is that he got hurt by bombs when many of the other Godzillas on this list have tanked or recuperated from even greater damage. Showa Godzilla not only has martial arts experience but has better hacks resistance, outright faster reaction times, and can spam his atomic breath. Shin has NOTHING on his level apart from his atomic breath, which he can't even fire often. You either give me feats that are worthy of putting him higher on the list, or you can stop with the headcanon speculation. 3. Forgot to mention Legendary Godzilla's combat/reaction speed, but he should be at least supersonic since he's relative to Ghidorah who could react to Rodan, who is confirmed to be supersonic in the Monarch website and files. Final Wars' Godzilla should be hypersonic at least, possibly relativistic due to his beam spanning kilometers in a few seconds and stopping the Gorath capsule that was implied to shatter or threaten the Earth. I didn't mention the speed for every single Godzilla since for the most part (albeit with few exceptions), it's fair to assume that the higher we go on the list, the faster the Godzillas will be. 4. I'd like to clear up two mistakes I made as well. Godzilla used the Blue Spiral Ray to destroy Gorath. I didn't notice the spirals at first (and tbh, they aren't as visible as other spiral rays) and I believed that it was a regular atomic blast. I also meant to say that IDW Godzilla scaling from Mecha King Ghidorah's speed should actually be sub-relativistic to relativistic speeds at least. Since it took 2 weeks to reach past the solar system, meaning that it traveled over 9 Billion Miles. So, my bad on that.

Shin was the weakest because it was adapting to humans. It didn't NEED to turn into an ultra powerful deity because what he faced didn't require it. There was the airforce, which it took down by evolving the ability to shoot from its dorsel fins, and it also evolved to shoot a more long-ranged beam from his mouth to deal with the higher up stealth bomber. Shin was a more primal beast, who seemed to only be gaining his legs after being attacked, requiring him to defend himself. It went from a tiny aquatic creature to a land-based creature capable of increasing its durability in response to the various weapons of the JSDF and U.S forces. However, while slow to start, its potential is terrifying. Within a day it pieced together that in order to protect itself it needed to deal with the humans that were hiding away, signifying a fast-evolving intelligence. It started to create independent life from its tail to reach the human's that were hiding away, just because it deemed it necessary. Over that day, it went from barely being able to move on land to LITERALLY CREATING LIFE. Shin's weakness lies in it's choice to adapt to what it is currently engaging, which leaves it open to be surprised and destroyed as it fails to adapt in time, but that doesn't mean it's weak. Given time, Shin can adapt to anything. If they HAD given it time, things would have gone very bad, very quickly.

I do agree that it could have evolved into something more powerful, but that goes into speculation and headcanon territory. I mostly value feats and statements that are backed up by the narrative, guides, or the movie itself. Matter of the fact is, Shin Godzilla has shown nothing to be deemed higher on the list.

The fact that Legendary Goji casually blasted a hole all the way to the center of the earth with his atomic breath, JUST to tell Kong to get up there and fight him, says it all. And even after being super tired from rampaging throughout the whole film AND having to fight Kong he STILL put up a pretty good fight against a fully powered gidorah controlled mecha goji.

It was a prototype though and the original oxygen destroyer during the year 1954 was much more threatening because it would vaporized any living thing including Godzilla. Great video, this for me was one of your best videos, because I’m a huge Godzilla fan. Godzilla is what got me into anime, comics, etc. Its refreshing to see you point out Shin Godzilla is the weakest. A great many youtubers who base their channel on Godzilla expertise, always put Shin Godzilla in their top rankings, even tho when you really watch the movie closely, you realize he has no stamina, hes slow as ass, and he was beaten by the humans, which for Godzilla is almost unheard of. JacobEzz Shin Godzilla was evolving to be able to survive whatever threatened him. He evolved to be able to stay on land without overheating(or something like that) When they bombed him he evolved his atomic breath right there at the time and shot it out of his dorsal spikes to survive the bombing. I’m like 50% sure they think that another Shin Godzilla could grow from a piece of him that was blown off from the bombing. Shin would’ve kept evolving if they didn’t freeze him, and his humanoid monsters would’ve been unleashed everywhere, and chances are they would’ve been capable of evolving just like Shin. He would’ve been unstoppable and definitely indestructible. They even say in the movie “Godzilla.....Truly a God incarnate”. If they didn’t freeze him he would’ve definitely taken over the world and nothing would be able to stop him.

You have to take into account we only have what we have seen to work with you can't do hypothetical deduction, and if that version of Godzilla went up against any other version. The energy output alone from them would be enough to finish the job before he could evolve more. That's why he is so low on the list, devastating to humans, not so much many other Kaiju. especially not top tier Kaiju who could drain the energy he was using to evolve. Shin has not 1 feat against another kaiju to compare his str to at all because He was the only one and he died to an attack every other Godzilla after him could survive.

Glad to see actual power scalers getting into the Godzilla scene. But I do have some points I’d like to bring up. 1: I think Legendary Godzilla may be a bit of a high ball, him tanking nuclear blasts I believe is more from the fact he feeds on nuclear energy, not a durability thing. Also, he did get knocked out by a building, which was stupid, but still it happened. 2: Shin Godzilla may be a low ball, though him getting killed by bombers is some TriStar Zilla shit lol 3: I think 1954 Godzilla and the rest of the Showa Era should be separated. They have always been portrayed as two separate entities and I think it’s important to scale them differently, though scaling Showa Godzilla is hard as it is since he’s always been a semi-gag character (obviously he’s not, but he’s done some wacky things that can be chalked up to a gag lol). I’m willing to be wrong on all the points, just trying to start a discussion. Love your work bro and I can’t wait for part two 💪🏻

I guess I don’t understand why Shin Godzilla is so low on the list. Like, bits and pieces of it that are blown off are shown growing in new organisms, even before the final reveal of the tail. Maybe it’s slow and it’s breath is weaker, but the damn thing is completely unkillable and probably a world ending event before it even opens its mouth to spit radiation. Sure, other Godzilla’s have insane regeneration, but Shins demonstrates levels of both it, and adaptability are completely off the charts.

Shin would've been higher on the list if he evolved faster than 12 weeks, and if he didn't shut down when he's out of energy, which, for a Godzilla incarnation, is kinda pathetic. In short, Shin Godzilla is an overhyped incarnation that died to humans, was severely injured by conventional weaponry, takes 12 weeks to evolve once, and is extremely slow. He can't evolve mid fight, and his skin is not durable.

@@-samart2004- 1st: he only stoped moving once to recharge and evolve further. after that hibernation period he had faster recharge rates, increased agility the ability to fire an omni directional lazer from his tail and he didnt need to hibernate again after that. thats 4 new adaptatons in a relatively short amount of time. 2nd: he wasnt killed by the coagulant. in the movie itself it was said that hes only frozen for the time being and that hes evolving further during that time. 3rd: he was hit with 2 bunkerbuster bombs designed to smash through 50meters of reinforced concrete which exploded right inside his body and the only damage he took was to lose one dorsal plate which regrew in seconds. 4th: his skin cant be pierced by anti-tank shells, missiles, rockets, high ordinance bombs, artillery fire high calliber armor piercing ammunition and withstands being crushed by multiple skyscrapers at once.

@@uteriel282 Bunker busters or not, a majority of the incarnations would shrug off bunker busters. His spike did not "regenerate in seconds". He also did NOT have increased agility after he was done hibernating, he was still extremely slow. If Shin Godzilla was badly hurt by bunker busters, then imagine what a nuke could do to him. Other incarnations have shrugged off far worse, like Final Wars Godzilla. An asteroid blew up right in his face, and he didn't even flinch. It didn't even effect him at all. The Heisei Godzilla is another example. Burning Godzilla was sliced in half by Destoroyah and the wound regenerated so quickly that the wound wasn't even visible. All of these are things that Shin Godzilla *would not* be able to do. Shin Godzilla is extremely overhyped by the fanbase, and is actually a very average Godzilla incarnation when it comes to strength.
