Why spend money on a prison when you are just going to release everyone and stop prosecuting people?

When you close a prison it is a big deal, to reopen literally takes an act of congress. Also, even thought these prisons are in good physical condition when they close they are no longer habitable which means when they do start prosecuting people for crimes which they will sooner or later these prisons need to be brought up to code which means tens of millions of dollars will have to be spent. Now the question you should be asking is "Why is the governors office releasing violent offenders early, why is the governors office reducing life sentences for Murderers, and why are the states DA's not prosecuting criminals". Short answer Politics, these POS are playing politics with your safety!

This is a devastating blow to Blythe. We may not recover. Could lose our hospital and college and more. No impact study was done. Doesn’t make sense to close this one when Norco doesn’t want theirs open.

Yes, lets close this prison because it the Prison that is what is costing all that money. I mean it couldn't be reckless prison spending on Trans-gender hormones, gender reassignment surgeries. It also couldn't be the millions of dollars spent on religious diets or vegan diets. Let's just close this prison and comprimise publice safety. It's not like crime is a problem right now.
