Hey, I'mma just say. You haven't tasted power until you've taken on this world's boss with maxed out Hero Dualies. It's ink-redible, had me maniacally cackling as I mowed it down. I knew I wanted to be a Dualies main at launch, and that moment made me realize the firing rate, dodge rolls and the nimbleness that result are as advertised. Stuck to them since, though not necessarily with the vanilla kit. Wound up missing the Curling Bombs from the Octo Canyon days and switched to Enperry.

Replaying the levels, especially the Roller and Brush levels with the guns are so satisfying, because it's so much faster. Especially upgraded weapons. But then there's also Octo Shower.

There's also something to be said about just mashing ZR furiously with the Slosher against the boss. He staggers when he takes enough damage, so attacking fast enough renders you pretty much invincible since he won't be able to actually use his strong attacks before he gets splatted.

Im certain Chugga will cover it later BUT for immediate benefits, go into your menu from the plaza, scroll all the way over the Options, and go down to Other. The "Color Lock" option will pick 2 specific opposing colors, 1 color scheme, that has been tested and confirmed to be viewable by multiple forms of Colorblindness. 🤗

I believe the colors are indeed orange and dark blue - kind of a burnt-ish bright orange and a mascara-dark indigo-ish blue. opposing pop-out colors that, as far as I'm aware, don't cause issues for any colorblindness types? A very nice accessibility option!

I love how they improved upon the single-player experience from the previous game simply by giving you the other types of weapons to use in the campaign. You only had the Hero Shot in Splatoon 1, and if you wanted to try out the Charger or Roller in single player, you had to use the amiibo, and even then, it was on a handfull of stages. Sheldon letting you use the other weapon types only benefits you by showing you the variety of playstyles there are. If you're not a high enough rank to unlock it in multiplayer, then it's a good teaser of what's to come and it allows you to practice the weapon in a safer environment. And if you're excited to use it, then it just motivates you to climb through the ranks to finally be able to afford it. If you already unlocked the weapon in multiplayer, then you're probably experienced enough to be able to breeze through the level.

It's really great! I remember a lot of people completing stages with the brella right before it was released. It's also good that rather than making it so that every weapon could feasibly complete a stage, but not stretch the limits of weapon usage, there are just small addition that appear in levels that are first introduced with longer ranges that help the player continue through the level. [spoilers] I personally prefer how Octo Expansion handled weapon variability, that different weapons were different difficulties and with a more strongly focused design that suited them.

Important note: As of the most recent patch(5.5.0), the roll now consumes 7% instead of 9% of the ink tank. While its still important to roll when appropriate, you can now be more lenient when determining whether or not to roll

Edit: this game has a dual wielding weapon that can dodge roll. The Fall of Cybertron player in me is jumping for joy right now. More shooters need dodge rolling. It's such a cool, fun and useful maneuver. Also dual wielding is one of those things that is inherently badass.

If I remember correctly Splatoon 1 was the first running LP I experienced and it made me fall in love with a game I had felt lukewarm towards at best before that. It was just so energetic and fun and this LP is just as amazing, if not even better. Absolutely loving it so far!

Ah, my favorite weapon class. I always found that this main and all of its cousins were the more 'assassin-y' type weapons in Splatoon. Maybe it's just me and my playstyle, but every dualies barring the squelchers LOVES to get into the action and constantly go aggressive to pick off kills, flank, and duel for area control.

The editing in this LP has been really nice, granted the editing in all your videos is pretty much always stellar, but something about the screams getting cut off twice in the same video and inserting that clip of "the piss is crusty sean" is just hilarious. It's not overdone throughout the whole video so it doesn't alienate people who want to watch a playthrough without a bunch of gags, while still adding to the video in a funny way that also surprises people not expecting it. Loved the Splatoon 1 let's play (recently started re-watching the full weapon bios again) and loving this LP of Splatoon 2 so far (and I knew I would obviously). You know, these 5:23 steamed clams are 30:45 quite similar to the ones they have at 8:10 Crusty Bucket. Enperry Splat Dualies were the first weapon I mained back when Splatoon 2 first released, so maybe I ought to play them again as a nice blast from the past. It isn't obvious at first, but the display at the top doesn't just key you in to what weapons and ready specials each team has. The size difference of the team display is a good indicator as to which team currently has the lead. If the teams are close to each other in points, the size difference isn't all that noticeable, but when one team is dominating, it will tell you. That danger warning isn't just for show.

18:50 I actually fact-checked this statement to be sure, but Ink Saver Main *does* reduce the dodge cost (for all dualies in fact). "The ink consumption of 0.72% and ink tank capacity of 100% allows players to fire 138 shots before needing to refill the ink supply. This stat can be changed with Ink Saver (Main)." (Source: Inkipedia) Additionally tons of CDSs run subs of ISM for slightly more efficient dodges on builds with lots of Main Power Up, which is what initially got me skeptical of the claim.

Yup, both Dualie Squelcher kits run 2 subs of Main Saver as their only non-Mpu/value sub ability when going the 3 mains route. Both can also go a 2 mains route to fit Last Ditch, but then they have even fewer sub slots available for non-Mpu abilities.

I've always been a fan of the default duelies. The special is very non commital, and finishes firing faster than the other specials. The dodging makes it easy to dip out to a safeplace, and let loose a salvo at nearby targets, then capitalize on the restricted movement.

Ahhhh the splat dualies... I might have lost my copy of Splatoon 2 ages ago but these still hold a special place in my heart. I actually first got to play splatoon 2 at one of those expo things where you could try out the switch before it was officially launched, and I got to play in one of the splatoon 2 matches they held. The high I felt when after the presenter switched the view to a inkjet player, and at that exact moment I rolled behind him and splatted him? Ohhhh that was SO good. :D

Dualies are the favorite weapon class for many people including me, you just can't replicate that feeling of crazy rush as you roll around dodging and splatting with any other weapon. And the kits are very solid to back it up, Enperry dualies even used to be a dominant weapon in the multiplayer scene, although the other kits seem to be catching up on the popularity recently. Splat dualies are surprisingly popular thanks to the tenta missiles being popular lately, and kensa due to its ability to take tactical engagements and being well rounded. I'm really looking forward to more weapon analysis(namely a certain other dualie I've fallen in love with), they're the part I like most in each episodes!

These were my jam for the short time I played PvP in this game. I don't like the confrontations so I would spend my time running around, painting the ground and then unleashing the long range rain of fire on opponents.

I remember the first time I saw the dualies I was like "Yup, that's my main weapons of choice, it's rad." I'll also use them in 3 if they return if there isn't a newer cooler weapon to use.

Dualies were a gun I thought I was going to main. I used them during the test splatfest! I did use them for a long while afterwards when the game first came out, but I have a habit of jumping around while shooting so much that constantly getting thrown to the side via dodge roll hindered how I play. x'D Now I can't stand them, but maybe I should give them another chance, haha. Awh man Flounder Heights was one of my favs, too! Shame it never came back. Maybe we'll see it in 3? o:

The dualies definitely were a highlight for Splatoon 2. Just the idea of this brand new weapon type and how they can operate did make it seem like they were the perfect dueling weapon to use at time of launch.

30:00 This stage was more than likely in the files to test for the Starfish Mainstage renovations in 4.0! Also should clarify that all Splatoon 1 stages are in the files of this game, but Flounder Heights was the only stage dataminers could get to work with file replacing!

Dualies were by far my favorite weapon to use in this game. Dodging while in point blanc range of another Squid and killing them first felt so amazing. Who knew adding a simple dodge roll mechanic to a gun would make it so satisfying?

I've never understood anyone underestimating Tenta Missiles. I've thought they were great ever since a game early in my splatting career. It was in Sturgeon Shipyard, the enemy team had taken over most of the map and had us nearly confined to our base. I managed to dodge my way past them, ink a trail to their base and from there, took out the entire enemy team at once with Tenta Missiles while the rest of my team kept them busy... while probably wondering where the heck I was... I mean, when they're used against me I USUALLY have no trouble dodging them, but I cannot deny their ability to turn the tide! It felt so EPIC taking out the entire enemy team from THEIR base!

Have you ever tried playing through octo-canyon without using upgrades? It's possible. The final fight is kinda hard without any upgrades. Just never use sub-weapons for that fight. I knew that there was some kind of upgrade station somewhere, but I never knew exactly, which spot it appeared in... It took me a long time to beat that final fight. I would not recommend... Also, my fastest time on the 5th level is 2:17 (Though I haven't played it in years.)
