There are no bad dogs, only bad owners. You shouldn't own a dog (least an agressive breed) if you cannot take the time to properly train, socialize and exercise them according to their needs.Taking care of a pet doesn't simply mean coddling and spoiling the shit out of them, that's just irresponsible! and tantamount to abuse in some cases. Remember that you can get arrested if your dogs bites or causes harm to other people! So before even considering owning a dog, do your research on the breed, temperament, physical and mental needs. Don't just get one because you think they look "cute" or "cool" and you can push out their aggressiveness with the power of love. They are animals after all (contrary to what some of you nut jobs think) and need to be trained specially as such. Don't just be a dog lover, be a responsible one. I hate that most Nagas get dogs after getting influence from media or friends. Without proper research of how much attention and socialising dogs needs. Especially in areas like Mkg and Kohima where dogs are not allowed to roam freely in certain area so they are kept chained throughout the day. Each dog has different qualities even if they will be of the same breed or different. Came across many dogs, kept many pets. Have had aggressive ones as well, some are obedient some aren't. Have come across extremely aggressive dogs and have tamed them. And then there are a few I have come across who are just out to bite you. So you can't say that all dogs are nice and friendly. Just like there are some cowardly and there are very brave ones. In the same way some are friendly and Some are just ferocious. No matter what. Caring for animals doesn't mean you have to lose your sanity and call all of them adorable angels. There are good people and bad people. There are good dogs and bad dogs as well

An appeal to the well-wishers to uphold the victim in your prayer and clarification to general public on unfortunate dog bite incident that happened on 29th February, 2024 at chumukedima police camp. This is to clarify and make known to the general public that some media houses in instagram are giving wrong information and twisted one sided story of the incident without cross investigation and examining the case from both sides. The matter was amicably and with sound mind from the dog owners , along with the eye witness, neighbors and police RP settled and being a God fearing Christians family - the victim’s family forgave the so called ‘Jerry’ owners to whom dog was more precious and human than the victims who is battling for her life. And till now, the victim's family remain silent as per the protocol the matter should be first investigated and look into by the concerned RP within the campus. However, the matter has gone out of proportion so we the victim’s family and well-wishers are now compel to state and narrate the unfortunate incident with the proof of damaged and injuries inflicted by ‘Jerry’ to our aunty. As reported, this is the third time the dog caused injuries to the neighbors in the vicinity. However, as per the first information from the instagram page it was only “innocent jump”. (Enclosed evidence) Secondly, we informed and clarified those social media house that they are providing wrong information and one sided views of the incident, they were at first not cooperating and instead threatened that they are in process to file FIR. However, they finally accepted their callousness and wrong information being provided in the page they ‘edited their post’ and posted it again. (Enclosed evidence) And thirdly, being an intellectual and educated person who is running an organization instead of cross investigation and examining from both the party and before authenticating from reliable source or visiting the ground report they are blatantly defaming the victim’s on various social media platforms. And now, when the victim’s family is trying to make clear of the’ MISINTERPRETED’, ’BIASED’ news items published, again they are spreading propaganda and malicious items that the victim’s family are harassing them henceforth. There are many Naga families who have started to keep big dogs. All dogs need daily exercise , they should walk and run around, that way tension and aggression is released. Dogs, therefore, should only be reared by people who have a big gated compound where the dog gets ample space to run around. Also, a dog that is on leash constantly becomes anxious and aggressive. I have seen naga families who don't even have a compound or a small backyard keeping Great Dane and St Bernard breeds. These are big dogs who needs big spaces to run around. My neighbor's St Bernard, who was on constant leash went crazy! I feel sorry for the dog. The dog in this video is not a family friendly dog, Cherry comes from an aggressive breed. Cherry should never be on constant leash, that will promote more aggression in the dog's behaviour. The owner says that they all go out to work and only the old mother is there to take care of the dog. Let me make something very clear here, old or senior people should never be in control of an aggressive dog. They can't match the dog's energy nor control the dog's aggression! Some breed of dogs are not meant for an old owner! Keep a Chihuahua or a pug! The owner is crying for the injured dog, she's like " How could they do this to my poor dog? ". Well....that's exactly how the husband felt when a dog jumped and bit his dear wife for no reason! If somebody's dog came for any of my family members, that dog is going to heaven that day. My advice to the owner is, if your mom is going to be the primary care giver to that dog, change that dog. Let her take care of a Chihuahua, your mother isn't getting any younger. The last thing she should be taking care of is an aggressive big dog.

We want to know the other side of the story, their story is like a movie , heroes too perfect. Forgive me but my iris( dog) too bite a child and I still shiver at the thought of that incident, she was my baby , I took care of her as one of my family members but when I saw her bite that child I knew instantly that animals are animals and the wound she left on that poor child was heart breaking, their parents were too kind to forgive us and we carried all the financial burden but I still wish it was a dream..
