Chung Ha (aka "Annie Kim" -- she's from Dallas, TX) has that "x factor" that has always drawn me in. I've enjoyed every song and MV of hers that I've seen. I'm very glad she's got a new label now, and hopeful that she'll gain more attention and success going forward.

You beat me to this one, I had to go experience it myself before watching the reaction. There’s not a thing I can think of to improve on this song or MV. It’s so inventive and slick and pulled me in. She is top tier right here. Months ago I had some netizen adamantly claim there was no such thing as a straight male Chung Ha fan which is one of the most absurd statements I’ve heard. I am here to disprove that statement by existing. I’ve always believed there was no plausible reason Dream of You shouldn’t have been on US radio, the lyrical choices and the way they fit right into the beat is better than most Western releases. I thought I was the only one thinking she was wearing a pimp coat--she rocks it though. The song is addictive. Chungha chose the song. In her Grammy interview, she said it had a rap part which needed a real rapper and she thought he'd be perfect. She's followed ATEEZ since the beginning of their career. If you like dark, I recommend ATEEZ's Guerrilla and Halazia.

Hello & good morning!. Long-time watcher & first-time commenter *(this week ;-) Chung Ha is right in the middle of the pantheon of Korean female vocalists and this song is right on target in its music and dance style. She has been quiet fro a while and this single (two tracks) is her first release with a new company. Hopefully more will flow soon. I see that someone else has linked a playlist & everyone will have their favourites from her, but my stand-outs are: Roller Coaster (huge song at the time & you may well have heard it in your playslists) Gotta Go also Stay Tonight, Snapping, Sparking and Bicycle Dream of You is an awesome MV for dance And Chung Ha was essentially the centre of Wow Thing which brought her together with SinB, Seulgi and Soyeon. Those are my highlights. Great (and timely) reaction!

As has been mentioned elsewhere in the comments Chung Ha was a member of I.O.I which was a group that was the product of Produce 101. You have already been exposed to members in 4th gen groups who were in IZ*ONE, which was the result of Produce 48. Obviously, based on the numbering, Produce 101 preceeded Produce 48 ;-) As tough as the survival shows can be, they do elevate very talented artists (with that X-factor) and establishes some very dedicated audiences that follow artists well beyond the lifespan of the group that is the result of the show. Members of I.O.I went on to be in groups such as Pristin, Weki Meki, WJSN, and Gugudan and many of the eleven members have also had successful acting careers. Chung Ha has arguably been the most consistently successful soloist but Jeon Somi is the other standout solo alumnus of the group (I know her Fast Forward reaction video didn't spark for your channel, but that may just have been weird timing.) side note: How is the fast production/limited editing thing going? As a viewer quality hasn't visibly (or audibly) suffered. Does early publishing help you with the algorithm? You definitely were early for this one (& for Ariana). It might be fun at regular intervals (3/6/12 months) to do a top 5 (or 10) and talk about which videos rode a wave as well as gained/lost followers. I know that's more podcast-like but maybe others in the community would be interested?

@@ianfinitive Interesting, hopefully one day when I am not so shockingly behind on everything, I can keep up with one of these survival type things! When I talk about editing it's mostly adding captions, pictures/gifs and other nonsense that entertains me. Sometimes cutting out rambling old man moments. When pressed for time or trying to post for premieres I just skip that part because it is more time consuming. Someone recently messaged me on Twitter asking about doing a mailbag kind of video where I read and talk about people's submitted comments or opinions which I thought was interesting. Stuff like that, going "live" and discord are the kind of stuff I think would be cool but I don't know if I have the audience base for it. I think your idea (top 5/10, some info about the numbers) is also super cool and would probably be fun. I guess thre's only one real way to find out if I have enough people interested! (just trying it, in case that wasn't clear lol)

If you want a harder not bubblegum kpop, you should definitely check out Hongjoong's kpop group Ateez. Actually Stray Kids and Monsta X too. But Ateez has a lot going on. They've been busy over the last year for sure. They just released a Japanese MV for Not Okay, and before that unit songs and Crazy Form from their latest album. If you want to react to Ateez content I'd recommend Hala Hala, Guerrilla, Wonderland, Say My Name, Halazia, Bouncy, Crazy Form, and Not Okay for their higher budget stuff that also goes pretty hard. Matz, with him and Seonghwa, the oldest in the group, is definitely a harder song. All of their songs are good though and I didn't list all of the ones I love. These are just those that are the most vibrant and will get you some attention from us.😅. Hope you take a chance on Ateez and check them out!
