Church mod is canon? Nier Automata Ep 9 Breakdown

A curious fact is that the mod was made by three people as a request to Square and Yoko Taro for a continuation of this universe, that fans have not forgotten Nier and Drakengard

There are this, too many references to Replicant and Drakengard. Many say that the man in the statues is Nier because Yonah is at his side. Some wondered why Kaine is not there and the answer is because the statues are the villagers of the Nier village, and the man with glasses is one of the directors of Square Enix.

The second message; "regarding the factors that cause branching... we have already requested an investigation on the 12th round" about branching could be a reference to Accord investigating branching in the timelines. In drakengard 3 she had recorded multiple timelines which eventually led to a branch which allowed the events of drakengard 1 with the seeds and ultimately the Nier timeline. Because the anime is doing things different than the game I wonder if this is testing to cause another branch. Accord's role in the loop between the Drakengard and Nier timelines is so fascinating, I wish there was more lore on how that happened and who caused it.

@ardent8463 right? It all ties back one way or another. I feel like some of these references though were just references yoko taro just said yes to. It may not have been tied together till someone asked if it was connect. Like for example the red eye virus. That may have originally just been a thing that was made without thinking about the legion. At least that's how I summed up his answer to the question. Because when asked are they related? He said if I have to give an answer then I'd say yes. So potentially some of these things he didn't think about till he was asked is what I'm thinking 🤣
